Insurance Guys, I need help!
I believe it's "you're" and not "your". I only have half a brain though. johnkook: Did your department not help you out on that? I don't know any better, but I would think that some kind of workers comp claim would have been valid there? Anyways, I'm guessing that the clock is ticking on this one since it's turned into a pi**ing contest.

Insurance Guys, I need help!
Whoa..... In response: bassnblvd: Don't get upset man. I don't know if you used to work in insurance or were a sword swallower before you did whatever it is that you do now. Either way, you didn't answer any of the questions I asked. I thanked you for your response and clarified what it was I was looking for. I apologize that intonation cannot be expressed in the written form. If that won't suffice, you're free to beat your chest on another thread. Micro: Before I get into this anymore. Do you work for American Family? Is your name Judy? If so, this may be a conflict of professional interest for you. Hoover: Thank you for your well written response. In general: The vehicle is worth roughly 21K prior to the accident. It will not be a total loss, so there will be diminished value. What is a fair number to expect being that the vehicle will be EXTREMELY difficult to sell with an accident on a carfax? How should I support this number with concrete data. The injuries involved sprained wrists, a sore foot, whiplash, chest contusion, and airbag burns to the forearms. There was an ER visit that documents injury. She has seen a chiro who is also documenting treatment. five total days of lost wages between us which is, from what I understand, a basic dollar for dollar transaction assuming that it was necessary that we both miss that time. The repair to the vehicle is being done at a reputable shop that I trust. Because of factors that I would prefer not to discuss on a public forum, I'm confident that my vehicle will be in better condition than it was before the accident, so it's really a non-issue there. Overall, the pain and suffering and diminished value are what I think to be the seriously negotiable figures, correct? I would prefer to handle this myself for a couple of reasons 1. Because of what I do, I have a general distrust of legal council (no offense hoover), my opinion is one-sided and based only on my personal experiences within the criminal justice system, which is flawed as a result of their influence (ask OJ). Couple that with the fact that they make more money than they need to for doing what they do (ask a teacher). My ethics as a person are more important to me than a paycheck (again, no offense hoover) and I don't want to be a part of his/her profit. 2. I don't intend to get rich from this. Overall, I loath people who abuse any system for their own personal gain. If I walk away from this feeling like I've gotten mine then I'll be happy. I'd just like to know as much as possible about my opponent before we sit down to hash this out. sorry for the wordiness.

Insurance Guys, I need help!
I would prefer not to turn this over to an attorney. I have retained one, but am not really interested in sharing any money with him. I'm looking for responses to the questions I posted from a professional in the industry. I'm not really seeking opinions on what I could or should do. Thank you for your advise though. Thanks for your response Micro. Can I PM back and forth with you if need be?

Insurance Guys, I need help!
My wife-to-be was hit by a driver in an injury accident in which he was found at fault. She was driving my truck which, as it stands, isn't a total loss. here's what I know: We are entilted to lost wages for days we've missed as a result. we will have some settlement for pain and suffering. We will be compensated for medical expenses. I can ask for depreciated value for my truck if it's not totaled. Here's what I don't know: Is there a way that I can educate myself on what reasonable amounts are to negotiate our settlement? I understand that my vehicle is to be restored to "pre-accident" condition. How picky can I expect to get away with being? I have about $3500 dollars of aftermarket stuff on there. Have I missed any major claim issues to which we should/can ask for? Can someone coach me through this process even though it may go against the, hmmmmm, ethics of representing an insurance agency? She is O.K., thank god she was wearing her seatbelt.

Broken Fin Fishing Fools
Hey FFI, PM'd man. Muddy, I know you didn't ask but.......anytime I do anything active like running a distance, pull-ups, push-ups, etc. I count backwards from my goal to zero. I'm pretty dumb so I fool myself into thinking that's it's easier that way. Take care of yourself man.

3 Bank On-board Charger Recommendation
popeye, I've been looking around for the same thing also. The people who work the BPS's in my area said that the XPS has had a lot of problems. The reviews on the site are prety bad also. Frequent returns and short life-span. They recommended the prosport model.

Okay, so what about Toyota Tundra's ???
For the life of me I can't remember which magazine I was reading but, The Tundra 4x4 was the least liked truck (most compliants, maintenence issues, etc.). The 4x2 Tundra was the most liked. On another note, the volkswagen tourag had 241% more complaints than any other vehicle last year. Yikes! I had an 05 dodge ram 1500 with a lot of bells and whistles for awhile and never had a problem with it. I liked that truck very much.

Do you carry concealed?
Like your "tactical" shorts you have on in that picture with your "tactical" crack hanging out? Does anyone still have that picture? As always, I'm humbled by your simple wisdom

Do you carry concealed?
Whats the difference from the "tactical" glock 30 and any other glock?
-
Do you carry concealed?

Feedback on cranking rod please
I don't know a ton about this but, I've owned some BPS cranking sticks and some st. croix premier glass rods. The cranking sticks are technically fiberglass. I like them though because they fit my hand well. Some people say that they are heavy, I personally disagree. Lots of people here use and like them. Cheap too. The st. croix was a really good rod as it would be comparable to the fritts model. I would think. But, the straight handle made my hand cramp. I'm guessing that most of the rods you'll find for this will seem heavy with maybe the exception of the carrot sticks. The people here that have them say good things about them.

Daydreaming of being in a different industry.
When I was a kid I wanted to play baseball in college. When I was in college I wanted to work in advertising. When I worked in advertising I wanted to do something that wasn't at a desk. Now that I have a job that's not at a desk I want to be a cagefighter. Go figure.

Eastern Missouri small water bodies
Hey cart, How would I find out where the water level is if I decide to make the trip? Do you know of any shops around there that I could call beforehand?

Post Counts?
Everyone please welcome Dr. Phil to the forums! Just kidding WIII-60, that post is pretty deep though. And for the most part, right on the money. Funny. The clapping hands made me laugh out loud.

Post Counts?
........I'm glad that you said that. I think that's how most people are here. Sadly, It takes 10 of you to counter balance the nonsense of one person. I was hoping that one of the mods would say that tolerance for unnecessary confrontation is declining. Thanks LBH. I would hate to see solid contributors leave because some people don't know when to shut their mouth.

Ultimate fighting? For kids?
I think it's O.K. also. MMA gets a bad rap becuase people don't have the technical knowledge to understand it. No fault of theirs though, it's a complex mix of a lot of different things.

Post Counts?
Don't sweat it dude, that's the whole point of it. I have a theory about why this seems to happen with people about once a month: Someone will make a post that is rude or passive aggressive on the forum and then wait for affirmative responses that validate it. That way they can identify more with the person they want everyone to think they are. When the e-friends agree with some sort of controversial statement, that person feels like they have earned the label of the type of guy who - doesn't pull punches, or love em' or hate em' is a straight shooter - and goes to bed at night feeling like people respect him as an alpha male because he wasn't challenged. As a result, those people think they need to supply edgy comments that illicit others to say "Oh look, more edgy commentary from (insert d-bag) again." They can't see that sticking feathers in your butt doesn't make you a chicken. The point is that it's a safe way to compensate for all of the things they wish they really were. At home, they see the real person they are and are unhappy with the hollowness of their mild, average life. Unfortunatly, for everyone who is secure with who they are it has to be endured in a place where those people don't run the risk of getting taken to the ground and beaten as a result of their sour disposition towards others. Enter the world wide web. Sadly, We can't slap someone when they cross the line here. Rest assured though that more than a few people on the forum recognize who the d-bags are. Sorry for the wordiness.

terrible motorguide reviews
Shopping motors on different sites I've seen that the number of bad reviews for motorguide TM's is much higher than it probably should be....... What's the deal? I thought there was a post a few weeks ago where everyone was raving about how much better MG is than MK. Isolated incidents or a legitemate concern? What do you think.

Must do Modifications
If a lure has a split ring to tie onto, I switch it out with an oval shaped ring. #3 for most cranks and jerkbaits, #4 or #5 for lipless. It makes tying on correctly easier and I think it improves lure action.

Huge list of boat to-buys
Oh, it's already started. I spent a good amount of time today trying to figure the layout for extending our driveway............. She's cool about it though. Today, as I was adjusting spool settings on some reels, she said "what do you need to do to be a professional fisherman? If you did it full time I'd just travel around with you." That's pretty awesome.
