  1. So, if you met Ike and he was cool with you and then you met another pro who you said you liked better, but he was a jerk to you.....would you still not like Ike because he "throws a fit on T.V.?" I'm tired of people using that as a reason to say they don't like Ike when his behavior doesn't effect anyone. if i think he is normal then i would like better and the way ike behaves are horrible his parents is to blame And yours are to blame for your English and spelling! ;D You've messed up big when Glenn starts in on you! ::

Did I miss something? Neither my local Bass Pro or Dick's has them. Not on the websites either. Were they discontinued and I missed the memo? :-?
  3. And don't forget that there are NO industry standards amongst rod makers.

I have been watching River Monsters on Netflix. Cool show. Are there any other fishing shows on Netflix?
  5. Where are you in Bowie?
  6. Delta Dawn
  7. I looked at the Shimano Castaic for years wondering whether I would like it or not. Bought one at a flea market. Now I own three. (I didn't need three, just couldn't resist) I like them a lot for pitching. I use the 201 to save the effort of switching hands.
  8. Pics added.
  9. I received one from Castaway in the triangular box. It did have a seven foot 1x3 piece of wood for support. The rod was attached to the wood, then the wood was attached to one side of the triangle. Not problem.
  10. While the Walmarts where I live no longer carry mid grade to high end reels, they used to. When they were getting the merchandise in for the new season, all of the reels that were not being carried or had missing knobs, went in a box under the counter to be turned in for credit. If you knew that box was there, you could ask to see what was in it, find a manager and get a great deal.
  11. I have a 7'4" rod that I use for Carolina rig fishing. It is not the lightest rod to begin with. I put two ounces on the butt. When the rod is lifted straight up vertically, I think, "wow this is heavy". Put it in the "fishing" position and it is amazing how light it feels. Same thing for my flippin stick. All the weight just disappears.
  12. Pro Terry Baksay out of Connecticut used to fish them heavily. He said the same thing .ghoti said, just when you think you are fishing slow enough, fish slower.
  13. Someone at UPS screwed up in your favor. Probably used weight and not dimension.
  14. I'll try to get one up tomorrow.
  15. Tis' Thanks Mike
  16. I took a Dremel to two Fuji TPS seats and carved out a couple of decent looking ECS seats. Is it necessary to seal them in any way? Pictures added. Certainly not beautiful but, the feel is markedly better. This is the exact same Fuji TPS 16 reel seat on Castaway rods. I was afraid to go too deep. Carving out for better feel and comfort was the objective. I always liked the rod but, not the reel seat. I did another reel seat as well. That one had about a 1/16" of white glue surrounding the blank. That usually means a smaller diameter seat should have been used. On the other hand, it made it easier to see where the blank was while carving.
  17. Give the Denali Jadewood a shot. I've held that rod, pretty nice.
  18. A great contributor to this board. Prayers for him and his family.
  19. Another good visual.
