  1. I would like to see a list similar to the good buyer/seller list in the flea market section. Good/bad grammar and spelling list.
  2. All my reels are mid 90's Shimano Bantams. Citicas, Curado's, Chronarch's. Giving me no reasons to change.
  3. I am not saying that you haven't already done this but, I always challenge people to go to the local football field and stand at the goal line and cast. Guys throw around numbers about distance without really KNOWING how far it really is. Try it. What I do sometimes in the yard is to make a cast and then count steps to where the bait landed. That would be approximate yards. Multiply by three for feet.
  4. Bantam1 posted a picture that I used to make a tool. Old pair of pliers with a quarter of one of the jaws cut out with a grinder. It works perfectly.
  5. Long MIke...Moderator. A license to correct grammar. Go Mike!! We have a guy on the inside.
  6. FYI, RECEDING is when your hairline is moving away. ReSEEDing is what you do AFTER that starts to happpen.
  7. Always wanted to try an EXT, what weight lures do you use them for? Abu has a habit of dropping reels that I like, the C-5 for instance. I had one on my cranking rod for a while and it really struggled to cast anything 1/4 oz or lighter. I agree about the struggle. I always wanted one. I picked up a used one. After half a season, it would lock up once in a while if I made too quick of a turn of the handle after a cast. I would have to slap it on the side plate and it would free up. I sent it to ABU who in turn sent me a Record 40. That is a NICE reel.
  8. All of my reels are Shimanos are of the same era as that Chronarch 101. I have two 100's and love them. As a matter of fact, Mike serviced one a couple of months ago.
  9. Without knowing your budget and intended use, you're just going to get a bunch of random responses with recommendations that may or may not suit your needs. You need to be a bit more specific if you want decent advice. ...spinning or casting would also help with suggestions. And don't forget posting in the ROD AND REEL section. That will get you more suggestions.
  10. Ooh, buy these. You'll be able to see naughty parts. :
  11. I took it as a smart*** crack on Shimano. I might be wrong.
  12. Glass Wiggly.
  13. Distinguished mainly by being shorter and fatter and having broken lines. Almost like an EKG print out.
  14. I thought the same thing. And the attitude. We don't see it but, I hope he is being taught sportsmanship and humility. He is super talented.

Spelling and punctuation are ALWAYS a "biggie" if you want to sound like an intelligent person. Sorry, but you need to be a good example for any students no matter what you teach. Oh and, I hit the snooze at least once.
  17. Fewer trips, longer duration here too. Plus finding some closer places to fish. An hour there and back is too much for me to make it too often. Worried about the truck, not necessarily the boat.
  18. Charlie Moore, according to his staff, is an actor who fishes.
  19. ...to Mustad Triple Grips.
  20. There are pills for dead-stick :.
  21. I'm not sure you want a shirt that says "spooning".
  22. i think its not the size but how you use it. Giggety.
  23. I was at a fishing flea market in MD. This is not a bass reel but, one of the coolest reels I've seen. It was beautiful and felt amazing. If I did this type of fishing... http://www.releasereels.com/RELEASEREELS/Singles.html
