  1. Tough casting a 10" rod. LOL
  2. That doesn't make sense.
  3. 6# ultra soft doing just fine. 12# and 15# on baitcasters doing just fine.
  4. 90's. I have five different Bantam models.

  7. Same pain a pitcher might get if he starts throwing hard before warming up. Maybe throw a few easy innings before heading out?

    Still around since Nov 2004.
  9. I have the same ailment. My orthopaedic surgeon gave me an exercise to do. Straighten your arm and make a fist. Rotate your fist into your arm. It will hurt. It is supposed to hurt. It is stretching the tendon. Another that I got from a fishing magazine article. Extend your arm in front of you palm down. Place your opposite hand on the hand connected to the hurting elbow and push down. Use your "bad" hand to push back up on the other hand with good resistance. Again, it will hurt while doing the exercise. It will fell better later. I wear the black band most of the day. I'm a bigger guy so I wear the band that is meant for your knee. It is wider and works better for me. Don't forget the ibuprofen.

I like the way that looks.

A loooooong time ago, I bought the best clip I had ever used. I am now down to just a few and have been looking for them for a while. Has anybody ever seen this clip?
  12. Some friends were discussing lines and some mentioned that braid does NOT transmit strikes on a slack line while fluorocarbon DOES. I've never fished 100% fluorocarbon so, I had no personal comparison. Any experience?
  13. It's brand new. I've only used it once. I called Campbell Hausfield. They said that it may have a motor winding issue. It won't start even when it is around 40 degrees. They said that is absolutely warm enough for it to start right up, take it back.
  14. Winter in the mid Atlantic. 20's?

I got the rod today. As far as looks and feel, fantastic. When he and I were talking about what I wanted (back and forth a lot) he sounded a bit frustrated. Then after a few calls, he admitted that he hadn't built a bass rod in years. His specialty was LTG rods for the Chesapeake Bay (which I knew, he is a well known builder for the the bay fisherman) He did his due diligence and did a lot of consultation with Batson, his supplier and some other builders. He was very happy with how it turned out, as am I. (and still makes comments every time we talk about how small the micro guides are) He feels he had added something new to his line of builds. I will be getting a LTG rod for the bay soon.
  16. It won't start when it's cold outside. It is kept in a closet on my carport, completely protected from the elements. It just will not start when it is cold. Any ideas?
  17. Not me but, the river I fish.
  18. Blue Catfish (pending MD State record, 80.75lbs.)
  19. I am getting on a plane from MD to CA Tuesday morning. I thought, "I'll get a few fishing magazines to read on the plane." Walmart has ONE magazine on the shelf, In-Fisherman. My local grocery store has NONE. I decided to stop on my way home from work, at BassPro Shops. NOT ONE BASS FISHING RELATED MAGAZINE ON THE SHELF.
  20. Rattletraps, Baby 1 minus, and chatterbaits.. Surprised at the launch out of Slavin's. No wake, 6 mph zone. I fish the Mattawoman Creek almost exclusively. P O tomac
  21. Me too. The state of Maryland helped me decide whether I liked it or not. (where the umbrella rig for stripers reigns supreme)
  22. Confusing bearing count with gear ratio?
  23. In a kayak, on the MD side, there is Mattawoman Creek. No wake, easy launch, plenty of grass. Plenty of topwater. Even a good chance at a snakehead. June would be good time.
  24. Just like everyone else, my wife and kids and family. I have a good job and good fishing partners. But, I never feel any better, then when I walk into my church Sunday morning. (or anytime for that matter) I feel a complete sense of peace and contentment.
  25. My fishing partner is a light tackle guide on the Potomac river. During the spawn from March to April, he guides for crappie. Four plus inch shiners. Average fish 12-15". Go big. (at least during the spawn)
