  1. I haven't but my mom did. Make sure you listen & follow the physical therapist recommendations to get back maximum mobility. The therapy is the worst part for most as I understand. Good luck & a quick recovery.
  2. Welcome to BR.
  3. Black bunny jig right after ice out. Replicates the leeches that are leaving the mud & rising into the water column.
  4. I use a sidearm jerking motion parallel to the water which allows me to use 7' to 7'-4" rod length. I like a mhm rod rated up to 1 oz because I use a lot of 3/4 to one oz baits on braid with a mono leader. The moderate rod action on a quality blank keeps the fish pinned without tearing out hooks but allows crisp action to the baits. If your are using mono or fluoro instead of braid you can use a fast action or medium fast rod in m or mh power depending on bait weights because of the inherent stretch in mono/fluoro. My favorite braid rod is a st croix legend extreme custom 7'-4" MHM. I just picked up a kistler z bone LEXF-3MH-7' to use with fluoro.
  5. I'm anxiously awaiting my first try at them too. Good luck out there.
  6. If the line snapped twice that doesn't sound like a hook issue but a line problem or knot problem. I use the owner twist lock hooks without any problems.
  7. Kid's natural. WTG Lake.
  8. The fishing community lost a legend yesterday. Hugh was Vietnam vet, professional fisherman, high school football coach & fishing guide never to be forgotten by the people that met him & knew him. Hugh was well known for his guiding success on Stick Marsh/Farm 13 in Florida. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10109320757344413&set=p.10109320757344413&type=3&theater
  9. Great observation. Its not the bait but how you work it that makes the bait a good one versus an also ran.
  10. Take a look at Kistler Helium 3 rods. They are based on Northfork Composite Blanks and compare very favorably with Megabass, St Croix & G Loomis offerings. I have all four so I speak impartially.
  11. Welcome to BR Fred. You're sure to be welcomed by the walleye lovers when you tell them about your BIG walleye accomplishment.
  12. It's actually called scat but they do share your description.
  13. My all time favorite PB.
  14. I can hear the cussing all the way down here in south Florida!
  15. I have seen this style fail often. The only way to trust them is to crimp the metal sleeve down over the wire to prevent it from accidental opening which defeats the purpose of quick changes with baits.
  16. I use size #1 for jerkbaits & size #2 for crankbaits & swimbaits.
  17. Shimano for baitcasters. Daiwa for spinning.
  18. Welcome to BR Jake.
  19. Here you go Jeff. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Owner_Hyper_Welded_Quick_Snaps_6pk/descpage-OHQS.html
  20. Cold trip but tasty results.
