  1. Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life. As a bagpiper, I play many gigs. Recently I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man. He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper's cemetery in the Nova Scotia back country. As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I played "Amazing Grace", the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head was hung low, my heart was full. As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I never seen anything like that before, and I've been putting in septic tanks for twenty years." Apparently, I'm still lost....it's a man thing.
  2. All this snow & cold is killing me. Looks like the boat will be resting until spring. We need some more pairs.
  3. The green fish have really big mouths that is why they call them largemouths. The brown fish have small mouths that is why they call them smallmouths.

  6. That's what started the explosion on the great lakes.
  7. Maybe Urban Meyer, not.

  9. Three different rod brands & two different reel brands.
  10. Only two sentences. Man you could have said that in one.
  11. And another one bites the dust! Pretty cool way to pop the question. Congrats.
  12. I use both spinning & casting. My favorite rods are mhm which handle up to 1oz baits. I mostly use 10lb braid with 10-15 lb mono leaders. We mostly drift & cover water.
  13. Best cheapest doesn't work. Most quality rod manufactures have a good quality product at the high end but offer a low end to compete with others. The low end stuff of good name rod manufactures usually suffers. You can buy better elsewhere. G loomis has always been imx and above for good quality. The lower end stuff was and is overpriced for what you get. St croix is the same. Avid & above is the good stuff. The lines below not so much. The big guys with quality reputations have to compete with others. They offer lower end lines often built off shore to compete with others. People buy the name not knowing where the quality starts. I don't condemn manufactures from doing this as they have to compete to stay in business. But knowing what is the best buy for the dollar spent is important for me. Just my opinion from years of experience.
  14. Rapala husky jerk, smithwick rogue, lc 100 dd & staysee 120.
  15. The perfect 10 runs deeper than the typical shallow bill jerk bait. I fish a lot of deep divers in 20 fow. Try them some time. You might be surprised how effective they can be.
  16. Is there another box with deep diver jerks that you did not include?
  17. That's exactly what we experienced several times this spring. The perch were scattered chasing down schools of emeralds in 20-30 fow. The crazy part of it was the perch were hitting full sized smithwick rogues 6" model deep divers.
  18. I use braid on my NRX's. I use 10lb braid on a spinning reel on a 923MR Inshore. I use 30 to 50lb braid on a 802C JWR & 804c JWR. No problems with the recoils. I do use a mono leader on the spinning outfit.
  19. Perch hitting big jerkbaits.
  20. I say BS to that. That Nishiki never catches fish.
  21. We are all pulling for you Stitch.
