Call st croix and give them the info on your rod. They can send you the tip top guide for your rod. They might have the glue you will need also. You can do it yourself .

Just as a heads up Shimano makes a plastic reel foot shim that solves the problem of loose fitting reels seats. You can call them & they probably will send you one n/c.

I have used the smackdown and like it. It will help you with digin issues as will the suggestion to up the poundage. This new line is smaller in diameter than the others for any particular test. Buy one next size bigger than what you are currently using by stated diameter size.

If you have a uhaul rental place near you they can help you with the right drop and they sell balls with cotter pin locks so the ball will never come loose.

I know it sounds like BS but its all about the fishery. I usually do not catch many dinks when smallie fishing on Erie. I try to target areas that give me the best shot at bigger fish. I do not fish for numbers in areas that are known to produce numbers. I have caught more small fish this year than normal & less bigger fish.

Ok here you go.

On lake erie my average is probably 3lbs this year. Some other years would be 4lbs.
