  1. As usual Roger is right. Smallies will come up a long way to hit a surface plug or subsurface bait when the water clarity is good. Smallies are sight predators if they can see & it gets their attention they will chase a long ways.
  2. I saw that recently. I noticed the smallie in the picture had black spot markings like early pre spawn bass have after winter. That kinda stumped me unless it was just coincidental. They are saying its a result of farm fertilizer & runoff. There was a study done in Presque Isle bay that found similar findings from drugs being flushed into the sewer systems & filtering into the water causing sex changes in the fish population. Tough situation.
  3. I think it is a simple case of shitinitis.
  4. Did you accidentally loosen your drag?
  5. I use it for everything except when I have to switch to mono. I usually use a mono leader except for frogs & heavy vegetation.
  6. X2 on the Sears Platinum. I charge all three batteries with a Minnkota on board charger after each outing.
  7. Pretty cool. Two trophies!
  8. This is my trailerable 20' lake erie bass boat. It will hit 60 mph on a smooth day. It does not take water over the bow like a conventional bass boat. It does handle the rough stuff pretty good. Starcraft is the oldest alminimum boat manufaacture in the USA. My previous boat was a 18' lund with a yammy 150 4 stroke. I wanted a bigger boat that could handle the waves better without the constant slapping. It is a heavy boat with a 19 degree deadrise. http://www.starcraftmarine.com/showroom/fishing-boats/stx/2050
  9. Mark if you are busy working send over to me and I'll get it broke in for you. Really looks sweet.
  10. Maybe the old guy didn't like you. I'm laughing so hard I could barely type that.
  11. Great video thanks for sharing Raul.
  12. There is only one way to find out. Just do it.
  13. WTG. Time fishing with your dad is all good.
  14. The stiffer the braid the fewer the wind knots you will get. If you can find a braid with a coating it would reduce your wind knots compared to a super smooth braid without the coating. Suffix performance braid might help with the wind knots.
  15. I'll bet that gator got your attention.
  16. That's the way to get er done.
  17. Glad to help. The first time I used one this spring with cold water conditions I caught a 9lb lake trout on it. They do work. The duo realis jerk bait in the 120 size has been productive as well.
  18. Rolo is spot on 8 lbs is the all tackle record. And yes they do crap all over the boat. Most captains & boat owners do not want them in the boat for that very reason. Unhook them over the water. http://wrec.igfa.org/WRecordsList.aspx?lc=AllTackle&cn=Ladyfish
  19. I have one and it is normal. I have not noticed any line durability issues because of the design. I would enjoy the reel and don't worry about it as they have a long record of success without many complaints regarding the calais line.
  20. Short answer no but they are on my radar. Megabass baits are not discounted for the sale.
  21. If you want to know for sure just put in your cart & go to checkout. That saves a phone call when they are too busy to answer. The 15% discount shows up on a separate line. I put an Edge rod in my cart & the discount applies.
  22. No! I do it all the time. Just ask A-Jay or 00 mod.
