  1. The TW 15% off sale seems to cover everything but megabass.
  2. Well I have spent more money on Lucky Craft jerkbaits than any other bait. Color doesn't matter but yet it does.
  3. Have you seen these? Might be worth a try. Made by Owner.
  4. Congrats on the new PB's.
  5. Yes that is over spooled. Look just inside the spool lip & you will usually see a groove or indent. Fill the line up to that for a full spool without over filling. If your spool doesn't have any indicator just fill it up to an 1/8 inch of the lip.
  6. I guess I'm too cheap to risk breaking a good rod. So i net them, lip them or grab the line to lift them. I never swing them into the boat just using the rod.
  7. Well said. Lake Erie smallies start at 5lb to 6lbs for a nice bass. Six pounds and up are considered special. Seven pounds to eight pounds are true trophies. Eight to nine lbs is state record fish and the fish of a life time. I have personally caught 35-45 smallies over 6 lbs but only one over seven. Tough nut to crack if you are a trophy hunter.
  8. I just picked up a jdm shimano conquest 2014 model for $406.68. Slightly beyond your range but less than $10. It is a tremendous improvement upon previous models. I already own a 50 & a 100 conquest from the previous generation & yes the new model is a heck of an improvement in my opinion. The new 2014 model will last an other decade in my opinion.
  9. On lake erie the drum are called sheepshead & are considered a trash fish. They are always a disappointment when caught fishing for walleye or bass. I have noticed that the Canadians think they are great fun & always take pictures of them. Especially in Ontario.
  10. Get a black spro popping frog. Fish basically only see the underside of a frog so a white bottom & a black bottom are the two best color choices.
  11. Sweet. Pretty convenient fishing and topwater too.
  12. Just for the record many of those guys figure 8-ing have the reel in free spool with their thumb on the spool.
  13. Sounds like a great trip. Give the finger a week or two & it might heal itself.
  14. Yes I agree. My reference was to the other thread.
  15. Man that is a lot of pressure. Sounds like you did as good as anyone.
  16. WTG Goose! I guess it's time for the magnum bump board version. And by the way I glad you didn't photograph it on the grass.
  17. Sorry about that it disappeared but I resubmitted it as a thumbnail.
  18. I noticed this picture on another thread. It was caught by Goose52 & belongs to him. It struck me as a fine example of a fish picture taken alone from the shoreline. The fish was either rinsed off before placing it on the ground or just came out of the water clean as can be. The rod & reel in the picture gives you a perspective of the size of the fish as well as a memory of what you caught on that particular combo. My attitude has always been if you are going to take a fish picture strive to take a good one. I personally dislike fish pictures of fish covered in mud & grass. Kudos to Goose for a great picture that captures the moment.
  19. Well congratulations to you both. 50th anniversary is pretty special. We just had our 44th this month. Good luck on your outing but I got to tell you Roger my money is on Lois.
  20. These guys are a lot of fun.
  21. Seth was a single guy living at home with his father and working in the family business. When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed to find a wife with whom to share his fortune. One evening, at an investment meeting, he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary guy," he said to her, "but in just a few years, my father will die and I will inherit $200 million." Impressed, the woman asked for his business card and three days later, she became his stepmother. Women are so much better at financial planning than men.
  22. The brake dial adjustment only works if a brake is turned on. If all the brakes are off the dial doesn't do anything. The purpose of the dial is to increase the braking tension once the brake is set in the on position. Hope that helps.
  23. Nice post primetime. You know your baits!
