  2. Got out with a buddy yesterday to chase some New York muskies at lake chautauqua. Two hits for a 10 hour day. First hit came 10 minuted after leaving the dock. I was stoked! 47" ski. My first musky this year.
  3. Nice. Tell your wife a big smallie makes everone look better.
  4. I keep track of the number of 5lb smallies & bigger each year. I mostly only fish seriously for them pre spawn spring April & may & in the fall late Sept, Oct & early Nov. This spring I had 15 over five & three over six. My best year I had 27 over five & 12 over six. If you really want to see some amazing numbers ask Catt. He posted them up a year back but I didn't save the post. I'll bet Big-O has some awesome numbers as well.
  5. Just one. A jerk bait rod. It will also double as an all purpose rod if you feel the need to stray.

  18. Sounds like you smoked them. I'll bet your buddies wished they got up a little earlier.
  19. I have caught a lot of channel cats on senkos when targeting bass. They are predators too.
  20. Very good advice. Typically in farm ponds there are often too many bass. If the bass your catching are all slack bellied/skinny fish for their lengths then you may have an over population of bass. If this is the case you want to remove all the bass caught under 15". Until the bass population improves. You may need to consider adding bluegill to increase the food population. I understand bluegill can spawn 5 -6 times per year in southern climates. Catch & release in lakes is a very good program but sometimes over done in smaller ponds. Contact a biologist in your area to get further advice.
