What ONE new bait for 2026 are you telling everyone they should try?
Excellent suggestion that I recently bought to use. I found that the Core 7/0 Tush hook works really well either exposed hook or concealed.

@Brycecover Big congrats on the new PB. And who said your trailer has to match the color scheme of the jig & skirt.

Red Jerbaits?
I have had good results with Lucky Craft 128 in Aurora Craw color with red sides with orange belly. Good results defined as smallmouth caught over 6lbs both prespawn in the spring & in the fall.

What weight mono/flouro for keepers?
@MontanaBasser Sounds like you don't have a caliper. My guess is around 40-50 lbs

AI Use Policy & Community Participation Guidelines
Recently we have had some extreme volume verbiage posts that by their very nature feel like AI driven. Any single post that looks like a mini book response detracts from the discussion in my opinion. Plus my little brain gets tired reading paragraph after paragraph of semi-useless info that interferes with my comprehension of what the individual is trying to say. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Well without writing a book to express my view you can twist your thoughts any way you want. I don't share your view.

Lake Baccarac Lodge In Mexico
@rmcguirk I have made about 8 trips down to lake Baccarac since 2013. Only had one year where the fishing sucked due to a probable fish kill. What I have learned from numerous fishing trips to fly in locations all over Canada, Northwest Territories & Mexico is the importance of the guide assigned to you. After the very first trip experience with a guide that did not suit us I learned not to just take what ever guide that was assigned to us without a prior discussion with camp management or the camp owner what my expectations were for the trip & what we were looking for in a guide. Communication skills, experience & thinking outside the box were always top guide priorities. I never liked a guide who was overly stubborn or unwilling to try different approaches. Personality conflicts are par for the course and I get it. I always asked for their best guide well in advance of the actual trip to ensure we got the best available. I didn't always get the best but I never got the worst again. After multiple trips to the same location you can always get the guide that you liked the most or a very good substitute based on your learning curve. Lake Baccarac Lodge has two fee structures for their guides. A requested guide gets tipped a higher amount than a regular assigned guide which is done on a rotating basis to be fair with all the guide getting more regular work. When you spend your hard earned money on a fishing trip you want it to be successful & to have fun so you have to be proactive in your planning. That is a very valuable lesson to learn.

Florida House approves bill to restore the Ocklawaha River
Rodman reservoir has consistently been one of the premier fishing locations in the state of Florida for multiple years based on the FWC's Trophy catch program started in 2012. It would be a shame to lose it.

Erie or Ontario?
I lived in Erie PA & fished Lake Erie for 11 years. I probably spent 90% of the time fishing with jerk baits. So its not really mostly a jigging bite. Yes you do have to contend with weather & waves but the rewards for me were a whole lot of trophy bass caught by my friends & myself.

Florida House approves bill to restore the Ocklawaha River
Just the house vote. The Senate has not voted yet. And the Governor can always veto it if the Senate passes it like he did last time.

Potential Tennessee Record F2 caught
IGFA just requires that the new record exceed the old record weight for this weight grouping. So 12 lbs even would qualify. There was a 2 ounce requirement in the past but that was not IGFA.

Potential Tennessee Record F2 caught
If certified that will make the state to state Tennessee record a little tougher for all you Tennessee anglers. Right @ TnRiver46?

Most tackle lost
My worst loss was the result of leaving a fluke in the water after reeling up all the line out except for maybe three or four feet. I was taking a picture of a buddy's PB pickerel when I heard something scraping across the fiberglass boat deck at the rear of the boat. I looked back & could see my rod going overboard before I could grab it. A bass had grabbed the bait & was making off with it. We saw the bass jump out of the water close to the boat just afterwards. A new St Croix Legend Extreme with a Shimano Calais DC on it. I'll let you guys do the math. Spent over half an hour trying to snag that outfit but no luck, just sadness.

What is your most successful lipless crankbait, (size , color, etc.)
First off there are freshwater shrimp in many waters. Secondly the shrimp color seems to mimick the overall coloration of goby’s which is a really good thing! That’s all I got.
