Let me give you a little insight how my mind works in relation to buying baits 1: I look at a beaver bait and I think... self... you love jigs, you absollutely KNOW you can catch them on jigs. Is this useful? Sure is, I can pitch that into places where I might not want to throw a jig and if I lose it I can replace it in ten seconds. 2: I look at a swim bait.... self.... that bait is really expensive.... you can go to a softer version and maybe not catch them quite as well but likely good enough. 3: The crankbait... what makes this crankbait different? Action, color, sound, can I afford to throw this into a pile of muck and never get it back? If I can throw it at anything, will it work and why? Then as I do periodically with everything sports... i get rid of things that might not fit my style and try something else. When it works well, it stays and if its not Im on the search. I went through roughly $5000 and 10 backpacks before settling on a $250 one. Video and or personal experiece tells me what I am after. I might own a hollow body frog if I didnt fish them often, I wouldnt own 10.

I havent fished live bait for bass in a LONG time but one of my tactics was right after post spawn before they left the area completely. Buy the biggest shiners you can get. Hook them through the back. Smack them off the water to stun them. Throw them out with no weight. When they start to wake up... GAME ON!

I read a study once on brown trout where they were doing a bunch of tracking and filming. This one group of fish was running five miles up the creek in one night to feed on a hatch that wasnt happening where they were and coming back in time for daylight.

I havent seen so much coorilation with whitetails with the solunar table in general. It just doesnt work out well especially if you add pressure from hunting or humans of any kind into the equation. However, there is a direct corilation there between the moon being directly overhead or underfoot and coinciding with prime feeding times of dusk or daylight. You wont get deer going crazy eating in your front yard while you have a party but what will happen is that buck you havent seen but know where he beds might get up 20 mintues earlier that day or get home 20 mins later. If you can throw the ultimate one two on him and hit him with a moon overhead coinciding with daylight on a post storm front that lasted all night you stand an excellent chance however its not a game of being in the area. If youre on a true mature buck on pressured public and have the cards align you will have to be almost on top of his bed to get the chance. In the event you have that all lined up and he comes back before daylight you are stuck there all day. If you leave and he didnt get up and feed off mid morning youre done. You could sit that spot for the rest of your life and maybe never see a deer. I watched post and prefront conditions with whitetails for a year, recording every sighting in an excel spreadsheet. I can say without a doubt that weather has a much greater influence than the moon.

Most tournaments require it, some more than others. Whats the highest you have seen required and what do you hold? Me personally, the highest I have seen is $300,000 and thats what I have my policy set at. The jump from 100,000 to 300,000 cost me $9 a year lol.

Main reason the club I joined left bass. They were spending so much money and time traveling that guys were losing their families. The one guy made it to the classic and he was so far in debt to get there it was unreal. When it was all said and done they never even mentioned his name one single time. Do what you want to do and you know when you hit that limit. Reality is, theres only so many guys that can do it for a living. If you can make a run for the top youll know when and until you think you can start cutting checks for travel expenses plus entry fees its just a pipe dream. Everyone thinks they are gonna be in the elites some day, its just not in the cards for everyone. I myself, would be on the ultimate high if the day ever comes that I can fish the elites but to me its about as practical as winning the powerball at this point.

Im not there enough, thats the whole point. Its 1.5 hour drive one direction and I am going to take a day off work to get this deal. I take it you have never had an issue with going to bass pro or cabelas and them not having the product you want to see in person. If I wanted to buy the item site unseen I would order it online. herein lies another problem, this will be an instore only deal likely. Call yourself rational, Id say Im rational in that I expect if youre going to advertise an item that will only be available in store with people traveling to get it you should probably have it. I guess theres a sucker born every day. The only way thats even remotely a good deal is if the reel in question was junk to begin with.

You can pull it off if it has a vertical eye. I dont produce enough chatterbaits to even consider it. Ill just buy the heads ready to rock from fishingskirts. I priced it out yesterday and you should be able to make about 5 chatterbaits for around $13. Thats 2.60 each which isnt that great, of course if you do 10 it comes down in price as you buy the blades in packs of 10 I believe.

Have you used hogtonic? That stuff will knock you down its so strong. You would have a hard time competing with raw garlic crammed strait up your nostril. Stuff is awesome.
