  1. I grew up on spring creek, my boat actually lives at my parents... creekside
  2. Biggest bass of 2010...10lb 1oz LMB... caught on powerbait... lol
  3. Sayers had a massive fish kill five years ago. The bass caught a virus and we lost most of the big fish. There are still lots of 5+lb fish in sayers and its getting better every year. Our club is doing a structure project at Sayers maybe as early as next week. The fish commission came to our meeting last week and said that sayers has the best bass recruitment of any inland lake in pa. It just lacks habitat. Almost everything is man made structure.
  4. Im going tomorrow, today is dragn. Its a good thing I dont live in the same town right now
  5. I dont fish on the bank but chunk rock is my #1 producer. I throw jigs right in it and just accept that some are not coming back.
  6. So youre the guy who cleaned TW out of that color in every bait from sk 5xds to wiggle warts
  7. I throw... Jigs - pumpkin variations, black/blue - swim jigs include white Jerkbaits - chrome/black, gold/black, clear, perch Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits -blue/black, black/green pumpkin, white, white/chartruese Cranks -chrome, bluegill, red craw, bone, black back/chartruese, parrot Soft Plastic - Pumpkin, Blue/Black, Clear/Purple Flake, Summer Craw, Bluegill Inline Spinners -gold, silver Im pretty much a guy that sticks to colors found in nature with the addition of chartruese
  8. I can appreciate that philosphy but at the same time unfortunately money makes the world go round. Ill be lucky if the day ever comes I can afford a boat like that. I enjoy my job, love my family but I would be lying to tell you that I wouldnt do whatever it takes to be financially secure enough to afford that boat.
  9. Do yourself a favor here bud and accept this boat for what it is. Its an introduction into getting off the land and nothing more. I would not add a motor if you want to take your child, maybe a set of oars. The weight savings on motors and batteries alone will be quite a bit. Save any money you think you want to put into this for 2 years and use this boat for two years. Sell it for whatever you paid in two years, add it to what you saved and you will have a real bass boat.
  10. I have high speed cable and roku boxes in every tv room, roku does the netflix/hulu thing and has its own channels though most suck. I told cable id come back if they ever offer alacarte channels. I pay $49.99 a month for high speed internet and tv, plus $8 for netflix and $8 for hulu plus so $66 a month
  11. You might wanna rethink that bud, the juniata and susquehanna both have taken a major land slide in fish numbers. Especially big fish. The lower sections actually have no kill regs now. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/susq-impairment.htm
  12. I did the same thing back in my trout keeping days as a young guy. Its effective but id rather not slime my rods up
  13. I cant say I blame them, thats a big buck area there
  14. Im more concerned with the fact that you mixed crankbaits, swimjigs, spinnerbaits and red eye shads in the same box. Didnt anyone inform you thats the ingredients in the dink hex?
  15. I typed that wrong... 115 amp hours at 20amps
  16. Amp hour rating or reserve mins listed on the battery. Lets look at a group 29 size diehard marine battery... Specs: Power Ratings: Amp Hours at 20 Hour Rate: 115 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA at 0 deg.F): 675 Reserve Capacity (RC): 200 min. If I am reading this right this battery will deliver 115amps for 20 hours
  17. You may need to increase the size of the wire from the battery to the TM. Thats not a MUST but it certainly wont hurt. How big is your boat? I have a 55 on my little 17' aluminum and if its above 50 you better be ready when I step on it or youre going over the side.
  18. I wouldnt think, its still 12 volts no matter how big the size. CCA doesnt matter on trolling batteries
  19. I approached my director to start a FLW college team. Theres more than meets the eye when it comes to something like that... liability insurance, boats, safety equipment...
  20. It certainly works good enough for my applications. ProTec I have heard is better quality. You could make a few more colors off of the base colors they have. If they had blue it would be money, if they had blue you could make every color you want. Find a different source for blue and get mixn?
  21. Heres a link http://www.harborfreight.com/16-oz-powder-coat-paint-white-93307.html
  22. I have stumbled on the holy grail of powder paint for us jig makers. You can spend $5, for a 2oz little repackaged jar from the tackle companies... OR You can go to harbor frieght and buy the same powder paint in basic colors for $5 for 16oz of paint. Thats 8 times more paint for the same price. I stumbled on this last week, bought some saturday and just tested a jig. It is EXACTLY the same stuff.
  23. How do you know you dont? I work in a university and many of our students are shocked to find out I fish and hunt.
  24. They should just offer the sale online as well
