  1. Ahh, I hadnt considered the newer motors having a computer to adjust timing, spark.... Does this mean there will be an aftermarket system in the future with power commanders allowing you to custom map the engine?
  2. Im not sure how doubling the fuel mix ratio would help break in. The whole purpose is to seal the rings. Just like youre not supposed to run full synthetic in a brand new motor because its too slick. Someone will come along to tell me thats not true I am certain but having much experience with race motors and not one blow by issue I wont run full synthetic day one in any four stroke. Im not certain if it matters in a two stroke but the whole double ratio has me tilting my head.
  3. I buy red hooks when they are on sale sitting next to the same black hook http://www.educatedangler.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=921
  4. ill be throwing hair with no trailer
  5. Do you know what depth the thermocline sets in? If I am looking for a heavy pressure bite I go to smaller profile jigs, a drop shot, a shakey head, an inline spinner or a tube
  6. I would choose the silent version after some heavy pressure when they have seen a million lipless cranks.
  7. I personally like a little bit softer of a rod, it protects the line better during a last second surge.
  8. You can do it with a toothpick also
  9. 1: Bass season 2: Blow the face off a turkey 3: Morell Mushrooms 4: Camping
  10. We can swap boats, see how you like having a 25 at daybreak takeoff
  11. No one ever said ... i wish I had a smaller motor
  12. My local shop owner is also a friend of mine. Not close friends but a friend. I walked in a couple weeks ago to buy some cheap jig heads and he asked if I had a few mins. Handed me the catelog and told me to mark anything and everything a tournament bass fisherman would want as he was going to change his entire inventory. I cant wait to see what he got.
  13. That boat is gonna run like a raped ape with that motor.
  14. My new cover is a foot too long for my boat and fits good enough.
  15. When you hit 500 posts you get access to a hidden forum... The 500 Club
  16. My first tournament of the year is the 24th of this month
  17. Im more interested in the box
  18. Im with ya, me personally, id rather have my boat to myself unless its a close friend because I feel obligated to put my parter in a position to catch fish. Ive never asked anyone whos stepped in my boat for money. BUT... maintanence aint free. If I can in buddy tournaments, I buy the boat and fish alone. I have no problem paying the entire entry fee because we arent talking elites in my game, Im simply not that good. I can say this... if I invite you to fish my boat a couple times and every time you show up you dont ever offer I will eventually stop calling you to fish. The guy owns the boat because hes pationate about fishing. With that said you have no clue of his circumstances, maybe its all he has to pay the payments. I dont think thats a wise decision but I am certain theres guys driving $40,000 boats who cant afford the gas.
  19. Hence the reason more and more tournaments are going to no co-angler. Sharing a boat with your buddy who invited you is not sharing your boat with a total stranger you have never met.
  20. You sure its not the magnetic brakes? They can shatter if abused, I know, I did it. Birdsnests are usually caused by forcing the reel. In other words you have it set wrong or the bearings are sludgy and you wail on it to get it to cast then the spool is spinning faster than the line can get out of the way. Tear it apart and clean it. Find anything broken and replace it.
  21. When your group of friends refer to you as "the fisherman" you have a disease. I remember during my hay day of fly fishing walking out to the creek and people knowing who I was that I had never met. A total stranger stopped my mother in her driveway one day to tell her that he heard her son was the best fisherman on the creek and wanted to know if I was around to give him some tips. Im telling you I fished so much in my younger years it litterally hurt, tennis elbow multiple times. When you grow up creekside that happens in the summer when you cant get to friends. I remember my grandfather pulling a jon up the side of a creekbank then falling down the bank with the boat and my grandmother laughing at him. So like many of you, my whole life...
  22. Or follow my topic that I suggested the other day and plan your trip in google earth then export it to your unit
  23. ebay is a good place to find bulk also however, if you think youre gonna get 25 good baits for $5 I have a beach front house in iowa for sale
  24. barlows sells bulk bags. Im not sure if they are name brand or ones that have slight imperfections or what. they have a tube that looks exactly like the powerteam tubes
