this is a great thread 1. When you arrive at the lake and see the water, you walk on a straight line to reach the water front immediately without minding the cliffs, trees bushes between. 2. wake up at 5 am go to work 60 miles then drive an other 70 miles after work to go for bassin 3. take a sickleave from work every wednesday and go bassin. 4. carrying more tackle than your bodyweight 5. when a chick calls you and wants some action, but you go fishing instead 6. when you take your girlfriend home early because you want to sleep but you go for bassin afterwards. 7. when your bedroom in your appartment is full of tackle rods lines and you sleep on the couch every night. 8. try new lures on your neighbours fountain. 9. practice your new casting reel in your back yard. 10. Your arms are significantly darker than the rest of your body beacause of the sun 11. you drive a saloon car but only the driver can sit inside because of the tackle.. etc etc

you can use the baits daviscw mentioned and also some fish fillet which works wonders on big predators, hooks 2/0 and above main shock leader line 70lb and hook line 30lb.. Lead should be 100-150 grams for long distance casts.. below are the most famous rigs

I am planning to go to a lake that holds big brownies 10lb+.. So i wish to pack myself with some crankbaits for these monsters.. The lake is packed with roach and bream, and the big browns are really difficult to bite. Many have tried with spoons etc but caught nothing. I ve only heard once of a guy catching a big on on a crank.. water clarity is about 6 feet. I dont really like spoons/spinners So what type of crankbaits would you suggest?

get yourself a lure retreiver.. I was stupid not to get one earlier.. You invest 3-5 bucks and you get your moneys worth on the 1st time you use it 8-)

had a lot of excitement with frogs and some really spectacular strikes!. They work best as other said, in weeds and surface vegetation. You throw the frog on top of the weeds (weedless), move it a little bit so bass could detect it, let it sit for a few seconds and when you twitch it a bit you ll probably get a surface strike if there is a bass below . ideal conditions see below

those are some perfectly shaped mamas. the colors of the 1st one remind me the northern kind we have in my country Cy.

Hey. Back in the old days i used to rig some deadbaits (roach, bream) and used them on my spinning rod in several methods (topwater, jerkbait, jig) . Biggest bass i caught was 5.4 pounds (northern strain) in the few times i tried it. There are several rigging methods that can make the lure swim naturally. The good thing is, you dont need to buy trout, shad etc large swimbaits worth 35 dollars, its cheaper BUT its for one use only . what do you think?anyone using this method? Its a trophy bass possibility

I decided to rest from bassin for a while and went with a buddy for some surf casting. Amazingly in 30 mins we lost a monster and my buddy caught a 12.3pounder

that bass is bigger than 4lb

with a 2 lb line, you couldn't even lift from the bottom of the lake/sea even if it was dead.. i don't believe it but it is a monster!

After a boring weeks work, weekend came at last..so i offed at my favorite place for bassin.. The wind was like the devil again, so i chose a corner between 2 hills for my expedition. Upon arrival i noticed that the water had a great visibility which made me particular happy since i wanted to try some new lures. After throwing the new x-rap sub-walk a few times i had a surface strike which totally surprised me landing this first one After some few casts i saw some shadows following it but nothing. I switched then to a bomber jerkbait and landed these 2 I stroke this one after a while and tried to record some live action with 2 bass following it but unfortunately they are not visible in the foto I changed fishing spot afterwards and tried a while with some t-rigs. Had a few good bites and got this one On the next cast i caught a fish-finger sized bass >. At the end of the day i landed a big pre-spawner which was a bit weird and big.. Great Satarday.. I went again TODAY..and got totally skunked > > >

Ive used braid for the first time some years ago, since then i've never used mono on my reels.. Braid has no elasticity like mono, hence you can feel everything while you are fishing. With plastic lures ( t-rig, c-rig, weightless) you can feel the slightest touch on the lures. With cranks and spinnerbaits you can feel their vibrations, thus you can work them better in water. Best working lure on braid..is the jerkbait

Had the same with problem teeth, I tried several types of braid including 0,35mm fireline and spiderwire.. The only way to sleep tight is by using some sort of trace wire. Get the smallest diameter you can find and work with it

My only choice would have been a rapala husky jerk clown color, any conditions..including saltwater

Hello guys I ve got me some resin in order to experiment in producing a mould for soft bait.... On my first try i've poured the resin with the hardener inside an ashtray coated with an aluminum foil.. MY FIRST TRY WENT LIKE H**L!!!... While i was waiting it to harden a bit, it started fuming and i've almost put the house on fire!!... So.. WHAT WENT WRONG????? I suspect it reacted with the aluminum foil.. Anyways... If you got any help or any links that may be helpfull..Please help greg
