  1. Figured I'd share this. I got home from work today and my buddy called me up saying how he went fishing today, how he tried to cheat. The idiot went to a Remote Trout Pond that is fly fishing only with a spin cast and pale of worms. So he goes rolling in thinking he's gonna be walking out of those woods with a sack full of trout for dinner. NOTHING! Not a bite. Empty handed. I said, serves you right. He said, "there's no fish in there man". Is this a common case of the trout will only eat what they are used to eating? They've never seen a worm on a hook before, but a fly on a hook yes? Or is it more of a thing where trout like that will only eat top water (flies) and not something bouncing off the bottom? Interesting. i hope next time he gets busted. ;D

Welcome! This place is great! I've learned alot in the short time I've been here and you will too. These guys and gals know what they are talking about. Nice Calico
  3. How the hell? Nice work. How? What? Sick man.
  4. mmmmmmmm striped bass. Yum. I wonder if the freshwater version tastes as good tho

Absolutely amazing man. You definately have a skill. And any pointers you could toss my way would really be appreciated. I've been screwing around with pine but I can't get the smoothness you have. I don't have a paint gun or whatever you must use either. Definately interested in learining more. Those should definately land some bass!

Those are absolutely amazing. How do you get the honey comb effect? What are they made out of?
  7. Welcome Rage Tail! Haven't used them yet but Strike King lures are in my panic box. Can't wait to add some Rage Tails.
  8. Slow your retrieve and check your depths. The water temps are still cold down in MA. I haven't even tried for bass yet in NH. A near by pond finally freed up. Forecasts for next week look good though. Keep plugging.
  9. Panfish Assasins. They cannont stay away. Especially the crappies.
  10. ................ you're sleeping in the doghouse because your wife caught you fishing for the pet fish in the living room. :
  11. Unforunately, no. But there is a public access ramp and free parking if you get there at the right time.
  12. Most of my experience has been rivers. And rooster tails have become a major part of my trout box. Good pointer on the rooster tails.
  13. There are none that I know of but there is one on the Merrymeeting River in Alton called Merrymeeting River Campground. Looks like a nice place. And its not far from the lake. However, I have pulled some HUGE largemouth from that river as well as rainbow trout. If you go the right time you can catch salmon from Winni heading to the river to spawn. If you do go to the lake or river, PM me and I'll give you pointers for both. Especially the river. It can be tricky.
  14. Fishing from shore and you got a visual? Drop shot? Maybe? Or C-Rig a worm and let it sit. You gotta get a boat man!
  15. Go Senko and get a boat! You'll definately catch more fish. You could probably pick one up cheap on craigslist. And while you're at Wally World, grab some Berkley soft plastics.
  16. Yup. Anything funky I see that I KNOW isn't supposed to be wherever I'm fishing I bag and bring to the nearest Fish & Game Officer (which I always run into) or call them and they usually come right out. In my opinion, its wrong to mess with the species that do belong there. However, if you think about it, in NH, the pickerel are native, not the bass. Large and Smallmouth were all introduced. The pickerel is the native and the bass are intruding. Just a thought.
  17. A 10 lb Brown is HUGE! My advice: fish 10 to 15' first with spinners or my favorite the "Panther Martin". If you're still catching bream, move deeper. Fish at after sunset. Post pics of your catch before you eat it (if that's what you plan on) and good luck man!
  18. Try Zapper cranbaits or troll with these:
  19. I'm telling yas.............. Merrymeeting Lake. Smallmouth central. Crystal clear water. Lake Trout, Salmon, Smallmouth, brook and rainbow trout. God I love that lake.
  20. Hey! I banked fished yesterday too. On the Salmon Falls River. Had a couple of nibbles. Then I had a hard bite but what ever hit it just let go of it immediately. It may have been a pickerel because it tore my panther martin up pretty bad. Its missing its tail and both eye balls! The river's very high right now and flowing strong. Today I'm going to fly fish it. See how that goes.
  21. Hey Mike. Sounds like you've put alot of work to get where you are and you have fun with it. Great show....... great guy. Keep it up! And for the NH anglers I know, we ALL love your show and watch it like religion. I think your show is where we got our love for ragging on each other on the water. ;D Oh, that comment made by bassinboy........... really....... who is the best fisherman? I don't think there has to be a "best". Its all about knowing bass, knowing what to throw, where and when. I know these things, but still get skunked now and then. The show isn't about catching as many fish as possible. Its about fishing with buddies and having fun while doing it. I think its a great show for people who don't fish and don't know about it. My buddy John for example. He says he'll never fish again because it was boring. He watched Mikes show, saw how much fun it could be then agreed to go with me. Luckily for me that day the bass were biting and he had a blast. If we got skunked that day........ well........ it would of made me look like an *** and John would dislike fishing even more. Now, I can't take the BPS catalog away from him.
  22. Location, water temps, time of day, weather......all play a big part. Where you fishing deep or shallow? Personally, if they weren't hitting the cranks and suspends I would have thrown some soft plastics. Depending on where you are, the waters are probabaly higher than usual so try a Carolina Rig with a soft plastic like a Berkley Jerk Shad or a BPS drop shot worm or any of the Power Bait worms in deeper waters. I don't know where you are fishing but find the drop offs , example...... the lake I go to used to be a river. So the natural river bed is still there creating a drop off from 17 ft. to 30 ft. That ridge is where I'll drop shot or C-Rig during early season fishing when the waters are high. Spawning? I don't fish for them. When bass spawn I fish for trout. ;D
  23. I DVR his show. I'm sick of Charlie Moore. Met him once and he was a rude until the cameras came on. I respect Mike D and wonder despite all the glamour thats come to sport angling, how did you get your own show? Regardless, I'd rather watch you and some regular guy fishing it up like I would be with a buddy, than watch C. Moore with another celebrity. Hey Mike. Take me fishing.
  24. Merrymeeting Lake, New Durham, NH. The crystal clear water and massive boulders surrounded by smallies mid to late spring. Beautiful!
  25. Maybe its because they are like me and too broke to spend the extra $$. ;D
