  1. How many different baits/lures do you really use during your typical trip? Do you honestly use enough to justify carrying multiple 3700-series boxes? Once you figure out your local pond/lake, you ought to be able to figure out what will work and what won't based on the area you're fishing, weather, time of day, and time of year. Pack that stuff and leave the unnecessary stuff at home. I've found that I can fish an entire day from the bank carrying nothing more than a Plano 4600 ( http://www.***.com/Plano_Guide_Series_Two_Tier_Stowaway_4600/descpage-PGSTT46.html ) and a small soft-sided lunch box full of soft plastics...and will only use maybe 10% of what I brought.

Not bad, but not really my cup o' tea. This is more my speed...
  3. Not to sound like jerk or anything, but I have highlighted the root cause of your problem. The Boss company has NEVER been known to produce anything even romotely close to quality electronic gear. For many, many years their stuff was typically only found at flea markets, discount/salvage dealers, and pawn shops. If possible, I'd box it up and return it.
  4. You attract girls that smell like fish. You're welcome.
  5. I've bought a bunch of stuff since my last post, but these have come in the past couple weeks... 7'6" 3wt Gremlin Martin MC45 Poorly-made POS, wish I hadn't bought it. Pflueger Medalist 1492 Needed a lightweight setup for harrassing the bluegill and sunnies in the local ponds.
  6. x2 I've found that having any more than three in the 'yak at any given time just cuases more aggravation than anything else.
  7. x2 That's the rod that made me sell almost all of my other rods and replace them with St. Croix.
  8. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. He left out the part about child support for three kids. The OP will be so broke he'll dream about upgrading to a sub-par apartment with roaches.
  9. Bingo. If you are bored in your life, then it's YOU that's boring. A new piece of tail is an exciting proposition, but it doesn't solve the problem...it just creates new problems for you, your ex, and especially your kids.
  10. Why aren't there any cords attaching the Xbox to the TV? I see the cord for the controller, but none for the TV... :-?
  11. I don't work during the week, so I spend some of that time hitting the clearance bins of my local retailers. I usually find some good deals on the things I use, but I have a tendency to buy way more than I need. I typically pay retail for my terminal tackle and rods, and less than retail for my lures, reels, and line.
  12. A good site to check Ebay feedback is www.toolhaus.org You can punch in a person's Ebay user name and use that site to pull up all of their neutral and negative feedback. It's especially helpful when dealing with a "Power Seller" who has 20,000+ feedbacks. There are also a bunch of other cool features as well. Definitely a site to bookmark.
  13. Round up all correspondence from the seller and inform him/her that the item you received is not in the condition the seller claimed and you will be filing a fraud complaint thru Paypal if the situation is not resolved to your satisfaction.
  14. I'd roll it. The only way I'd own a Chrysler product is if it was sitting on the chassis of something reliable.
  15. Quite true, but many of the folks you're competing against were simply let go due to budget cutbacks and corporate down-sizing.
  16. You're also competing against many unemployed people with years of experience who are willing to accept a much lower wage than they would've even considered two years ago, just to keep their kids fed and a roof over their heads. Right now, most companies are able to hire experienced workers at far below "trainee" wages, and they know it.
  17. x2 In many cases, experience trumps education. There are some things you just can't learn in a classroom.
  18. You'll get used to it. I've interviewed with headhunters who wouldn't give out any more info than job title, salary range, and the city in which the business is located. They still want every bit of info they can possibly get from you, though. :
  19. It may not be a big deal to large companies like Strike King and Pure Fishing, but I'd be willing to bet it's a very big deal to the "little guys" like Brent. :-[
  20. Sounds ideal for kayak fishing. You could fish in the store and when you snag a lure, just paddle over to the rack and grab another one.
  21. I was given a bit of advice from an old man about bream fishing. He said, take a #8 or #10 aberdeen and hook a live cricket downward thru the breast plate, starting just below the "chin". It ought to float on the top of the water with the hook shank acting as a keel. According to him, if they won't take that, you should go find something else to do for the day.
  22. This right here is all the advice you need. If you want to do bullwhip-style casts, you need a reel with centrifugal braking. Otherwise, you'll need to learn how to let the rod load up and make a smooth sweeping cast. I'm a bullwhip caster, so I stick with reels with centrifugal or dual braking.
  23. I've been wearing them out lately with a yellow Bett's "Trim Gim" on a 5wt fly rod.
  24. x2 If the water had a greenish tint I'd opt for the watermelon red.
