My new Kistler Z-Bone
With some of the other companies offering better warranties on comparable rods, I really don't see a Z-Bone in my future. St. Croix warranty:

ultralight setup
x2 I have a couple Trion/MicroLite combos and they're actually pretty nice for the money. I have the 8'6" Float-n-Fly model paired with a Trion 4735 and a 7' med-lite paired with a 4730 for general panfish use. I bought the F&F model towards the end of the season so I haven't had an opportunity to try it out but the 7' ML is a blast. It's more "whippy" than I expected from a ML, almost like fiberglass, and will really sling an 1/8 oz lure. It's last year's model and I found it on the clearance rack at BPS for about $25, I believe. Still not really sure why I bought it since I rarely chase panfish, but it's fun to use so I guess I'll keep it for a while.

Dose this make me a bad friend?
I don't see what the big deal is? Let them have their little ceremony in Mexico, and they can just run to the local court house and have it re-done "legally" when they get back. In their eyes, they got married in Mexico, in the eyes of the Govt., they got married in WI. Now the matter of being "snubbed" so he can hang out with his girl's friends is understandable at this stage in their relationship. She is the keeper of the "good stuff". He is going to do whatever he feels is necessary to obtain the "good stuff". If that means sitting through a few hours of girl-chatter, so be it. One of these days you'll meet a nice girl and do the exact same thing.

What does your name (Handle) mean?
I've been using this name ever since the wife and I got our first joint email account (Juno, lol) in the mid 90's. It's actually the first three letters of my name and the first four letters of my wife's name. Stasher was already taken, so it became Stasher1. I use the same name on every forum I'm registered on, so if you see the user name stasher1 somewhere, chances are pretty good that it's me.

Power Pro is TERRIBLE!
There is no way the "friction" of Power Pro passing thru the guides caused you to lose fish. If your reel can't overcome that little bit of resistance, you'll never be able to pull a fish out of the weeds.

auto question, looking for ideas
7' rods will fit in pretty much any car you look at, with the obvious exception of little two-seater convertibles like the Miata. If they fit fine in this thing... ...they'll fit in anything.

Shimano Sonora spinning reel
I agree that one should opt for an aluminum-framed reel over a graphite-framed reel whenever possible, however, I'd be willing to bet that at least 99% of the folks following this discussion will never have a catastrophic frame failure while using a graphite-framed reel. For the average weekend fisherman who makes it out to the lake once or twice a month, a graphite spinning reel from a reputable manufacturer will last many years.

Shimano Sonora spinning reel
I picked up a pair of Sonora 2500s last year for $15 each when my local Walmart was redecorating. Mounted them on 6' Abu Garcia Conolon Premiers that I picked up at the same WM for about $28 each, and gave them to my two oldest boys (7 & 10). I had an opportunity to use one of these combos for about a week last summer and was rather impressed. I don't know how long they'll last, but so far they're working great.

It's my understanding that D.A.M. was purchased by Okuma. You might try contacting them to see if it's still available in the US.

Rod action for Spinnerbaits.
I use a 6'10" MH/MF rod for 3/8 to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits. I use the same rod for my lipless cranks, so the mod-fast action works well for me.

spinnerbait reel
I prefer a faster retrieve, so I use a Curado 200e7 on my dedicated spinnerbait rig.

Getting serious with a fly rod.
I've been doing something similar with 2mm tippet rings. It allows me to replace tippet quickly using the same knots I'd use with conventional tackle.

Good casting rod
Interesting. What in particular do you find exciting about the Premier and the Mojo? I have a Premier and a Triumph and honestly don't see a nickel's worth of difference between the two.

Good casting rod
I had a 6'6" two-piece F&S spinning rod (the $40 model, whichever one that is) for a very short time. Used it twice and snapped the tip high-sticking a small bass over some shoreline weeds. Yes, I know I shouldn't be high-sticking bass out of the water, but every other rod I've ever used has handled it just fine. I returned it and picked up a Triumph to replace it. While the Triumph is far from stellar, it has held up much better than the F&S and is more sensitive.

Need HELP
The Triumph is currently manufactured in the same plant in Mexico that is producing the Mojo along with their Imperial and Rio Santo fly rods, and carries the same 5 yr warranty as the Mojo, Premier, and Rio Santo.

Spinning reel "mag" spools?
Actually the Pflueger Arbor shown in one of the links above has little rubber "nubs" inset in the spool that are supposed to keep braid from spinning without using backing.
