  1. The emails are very good. Better than most of the e newsletters.
  2. It is the nature of the bait. Try using the set-loc hooks like the ones that come on Rat L Traps. I have had much better success with them.

We don't have a BPS here yet. I did make the trip to the Cabelas in Reno thinking it was going to be something special. I found that the store caters more to the hunter than for fisherman. It was ok but my local Walmart has a better fishing section.
  4. One can only dream!!!! Are these teams or singles, 5 or 10 fish limits? Most are 5 fish and we have a few that are 7. Most of the local tourney I fish are team 5 fish and you need at least 20+ to get in the money. That would almost make it worth dodging the earthquakes ;D The eathquakes aren't so bad. They add curruent.
  5. The magazine has always been good. I am glad they are now on-line.
  6. Good Luck. One of the hardest things I have ever done is quit tobacco. Hang in there.

  8. You guys are so spoiled! 8-) Just a little. BASS decided not to come back to Clearlake cause we were making the rest of the country look bad.
  9. That was funny! I thought my phone was advanced.
  10. I'd call your local wildlife agency. If nothing else they should know who owns the pond.
  11. Almost 25 - 30lbs per day out here on the Delta or Clearlake.
  12. I prefish if it is a new lake or one I have only fished a few times. I think prefishing this time of year is not as productive because conditions change so fast.
  13. It does look bigger than 12. Beautiful fish.
  14. Welcome. It sounds like you are doing the right things. It just could have been one of those days.
  15. Welcome.
  16. This is exactly what I had to do awhile back. I was lucky enough that I was able to work out a deal with the manager so I could get my boat out early.
  17. Banjo minnows. I forgot all about them.
  18. i agree he was a good fisherman for being just a weekend angler he died way too young Way too young. He accomplished more in his limited time than some will in a lifetime. That is why it is so irratating to see people who have the talent to accomplish great things let it go to waste. And also the people who are afraid to put themselves on the line and take a chance.

For the most part I think BPS is more geared to the fisherman while Cabelas is more geared to the hunter. I shop from both.
  20. If you don't want them what about donating them to a local school library. A lot of the schools will not spend money on anything but Ranger Rick and so most kids don't get to be exposed to BASS fishing unless a relative takes them.
  21. I said the other day that I felt fisherman are some of the most courtious and most approachable athletes. With that said I have heard of more than one story were a pro angler has been less than gracious to their coangler. I understand too that these guys are fishing for their livelyhood and that maybe some coanglers don't understand the proper etiquite. Do you think this issue happens often on all levels of tournament fishing? And among those of you who fish as coanglers often, is it known which "pros" are not the most approachable or kind?
  22. I want to work on the finesse techniques a bit more.
