I had been following the Elites and supporting BASS. Now that BASS has left the West I will be following and supporting the FLW.

I think it is sad that Ike will probably be remembered for this one incident more than all of the good things he has accomplished.

There is no shame in pitchn' or flippin with spinning gear. My 2 best fish ever 10.2# and 10.13 both came pitchin Yum Dingers on spinning gear. I can also do the same with the bait casting gear, the spinning gear is just more comfortable. Like most of fishing you just need to do and use what you are comfortable with and remember not to confine yourself to conventional thinking.

That is a great picture and I had forgotten about that rusty mildew smell. I wonder what my son will be fishing with in the coming years while answering this question with. "Dad had a bunch of Yum Dingers and Rat L Traps."

I have always used Abu reels. I have found that they are better put together and easier to maintain.

I bought a couple this winter too. I figured if I was having one of those slow days they would be just the kind of crazy bait to put a couple fish in the boat.

It is so nice being involved in a sport that does not have steroid problems and video tape controversies. It is also refreshing that when one of our stars makes a mistake they own up to it and accept responsibility for their actions. I had the chance last year to attend both of the Elite Series events held here in California and to watch these guys interact with the fans, especially the kids was an awesome experience.

Thanks for sharing. Those guys are definately the most approacable athletes and personalities in sports today.
