  1. I usually put most of my line on my spinning REEL
  2. When we get a chance to get out this time of year 10-14 hours on the water isn't a rarity. In a 100 degree heat it can wear on you. (only if the fish aren't biting)
  3. what about Willard Bay ?, Utah Lake?
  4. I've not used them all so I don't know which one is the "best", but I love my G. Loomis MBR 844c GLX for jigging (I have two of them)
  5. Cougars, whether human or feline sound about the same.
  6. IMO you need to at least double that amount, then it still may be tough. Good Luck

Doesn't it get you excited just reading posts about froggin
  8. I think he is looking for a baitcasting combo
  9. Baitcasting for beginners can be a bit tricky, made harder by some inexpensive gear. Might want to save up until you can afford better equiptment. Many here can give you some good suggestion, but I would caution against going too cheap.
  10. Nice Fish, Congrats
  11. Really, I've seen it when the color of the frog made all the difference.
  12. It's all relative. In January a 1-1/2# is a nice fish.

Looks like I'm buying a mouse.
  14. I love the Metanium 7.4:1 and am planning on purchasing another one. I prefer the fast pick up of line when froggin and pitchin. What drawback do you see in a 8.5 vs. the 7.4 ? What about the longevity of a higher gear ratio reel vs. a lower ratio? , torque?
  15. one more , righty with left handed reel. Just feels more comfortable.

I used that same frog for years, color and all. I switched to booyah pad crasher a couple years ago. They work just as well for me, but last A LOT longer
  17. My experience,Cabela's had a few hick-ups some years ago,but other than that they have been EXCEPTIONAL in the customer service dept. above and beyond the call of duty in many cases. Hope they don't change that.
  18. old enough to know better
  19. ditto, pad crashers, the good ones
  20. Great Idea, That why fish don't hit senkos anymore, cause so many people use them. brilliant
