  1. Simple, "supply and demand" The demand must not be there.
  2. I like it my old eyes like it and my ten thumbs like it
  3. The last bass I kept was 30 years ago.
  4. "A " PB lmb 8.53# , PB smallie 4#+, Best year for quanity in the 4-8 pound range.Best year I've had for bigger fish in Idaho. Pretty good frog year too.
  5. I'm glad you had a good experience with the "Berkley Lip Grip" , I did not. Very inaccurate.
  6. A $600 Antares.... SHE"S WORTH IT.............
  7. I used and loved Spro for years. Pad Crashers work just as well but are MUCH more durable.
  8. I keep myself in a cool, dry place. Maybe I'll last a few more years.
  9. Top water froggin. Great this time of year as they crash through the ice to devour the frog, rare but fun.
  10. I apologize in advance for this is certainly an impossibility. Invent a Shimano reel that you could actually put on as much # test line as is stated on the spool.
  11. Still having a hard time distinguishing the color of the jigs on the website. Too small for my eyes.
  12. PB, 8.53# on a jig, fat albert twin tails trailer.
  13. I'd get a real reel
  14. A good one. It can be hard and a bit frustrating learning to use a baitcaster. It will make the task easier and more enjoyable if you have quaility equiptment. If you are a Shimano fan the Citica is a good place to start. Curado even better.
  15. I'm just the opposite. My stradic 1000 felt very akward when I put it on my bass rods. Maybe it's just what you get use to. For sure a 1000 is capable in doing the job in most cases.
  16. I would start learning to fish with a baitcaster if I were you. As a general rule use b/c for heavier lures and spinning for lighter lures. I fish with a guy (in his 60's) that never learned a b/c and I know some will diagree but I believe it's a handicap for him especially when it comes to froggin and punching into thick heavy cover. Buy a good quaility reel and start out with braid, would be my suggestion, then start training your thumb.
  17. Pretty much got it figured out. If I OWN a $100 rod then that is the best way to go.(I catch just as many fish as one that has a $500 rod) If I OWN a $500 rod then that is the best way to go. ( I've got to love my rod, or I just wasted $500 didn't I ?)
  18. The 3'' Ika (not the tiny) has worked very well on smallies for me. Problem is, my most successful color (green pumkin/black) is no longer available. I can't find them anywhere, not even on Yamamoto's web site. If anybody has access to that color in the 3'' ika please let me know.
  19. That's what I thinking. I have the HG & XG,but thinking the DC will be my next reel.
  20. Got one and love it so far. Light weight, smooth, and love the 8.5:1 for flippin a jig.
  21. They are a worthless P.O.S. As a public service I am collecting, free of charge all Fat Ikas for proper disposal. Please P.M. me for the address. You're welcome.
  22. I've got a 101D. It's the least expensive reel I own, but has always given me great service, just keep them cleaned and oiled.
