  1. I want the bass not to be line sensitive, I really do, and much of the time I think line visibility might not matter. I am convinced that in some cases it is critical and can makes all the difference in the world. Next, Tatsu is much more manageable than Yo-Zuri IMO. Tatsu is more expensive, but it's the only FC I use.
  2. I've got both the 8.5:1 and the 7.4:1 met. The faster xg is great for retrieving slack line froggin and flippin. I find no issue with torque. I would suggest the xg
  3. I would buy a lot more from the local shop, if the owner wasn't such an A-hole.
  4. 2 out of 3 of my NRX's have had issues, a broken tip on my 852 and a broken guide on a 895 and I handle them with kid gloves. The new 893 is still OK, but then I haven't fished with it yet. I have never had an issue with any other g.loomis or any other brand for that matter. I, like Rich in Co would never pay retail price for one. That being said they are a heck of a rod. Especially if the stay together.
  5. What's the difference?? other than the guides and $$$$$ ? Same blank?
  6. After extensive research, the answer is 17.5
  7. Have fun and enjoy The only real fishing goal I've ever had.
  8. Like my Dad always said "how you gonna learn to ride a bicycle if there's always training wheels on it."
  9. The line had real tendency to fray. After a couple years and a few too many break offs I quit buying it.
  10. What would you say would be the average maximum casting distance of the average joe with an average 7' bait caster set up, with say a 1/2 oz. weight.
  11. Any up dates for this topic???? I had the same question and thought I would revive this thread instead of starting a new one.
  12. Great fish, what's that green stuff in the background.
  13. My PB is 23.7 lbs., but when I'm awake it's 8.52
  14. I am strictly a Shimano guy and no amount of facts will ever change my mind.
  15. Which of these two NRX would be your choice for a 3/8 oz jig.
  16. Cruel, just cruel
  17. Yah, froggin and buzzbaits are fine, but have you ever tried senkos.
  18. Hoist a 10 pounder? btw, don't stand on superman cape or p!ss into the wind, if you ever meet a big dude called Jim, don't mess with him.
