I think the G.Loomis frog rods have a hard time living up to the company's reputation.

I'm standing constantly when I fish. Keens, Merrels, crocs don't come close to comforting my feet for 8-10 hours. I try standing on anti-fatique mats, my feet still ache. I just bought a 2" nitrile mat. I will let you know how it works.

It's hard but I still try slower baits in the wind. I just landed a pb smallie, facing a 30 mph wind, with a fat ika weightless, on straight braided line.

The more you fish it the more skill and confidence you gain. Congrats

I don't take the chance to fish for smallies as often as I should. Most of the time I have is spent on LMB. Today I had a couple hours and went down on the Snake River. Threw a Fat Ika of all things on straight braided line and a barbless hook into a 30 mph wind. She must have hit it on the initial fall. I thoght it was a snag as I started reeling it in facing the wind. She came in at just over 4 pounds.

I find It is a lot easier for people to learn using a baitcaster if you purchase a high quaility reel. My friend started with a Black Max and struggled til he tried my Chronarch. There was still a learnig curve, but the higher end reel helps. IMO If you don't take to baitcasting you can always sell the reel.

I bought a Metanium from TW on the 5/29. UPS has it schedule for delivery 6/2 . That's 4 days and 2 of those days are the week-end. TW sure seems to have there stuff together, pretty impressed.

Trolling motor

Many times I find myself fishings what is fun for me. I love jigs and of course frog when a top water bite is on. I know that I could probably catch more fish on a senko or plactic worm, but I fish what's fun for me.

Interesting, I probably would be interested IF I could choice the specific rods that I wanted. Say, my choice of a Heavy,MH, M, Crank rod and then give a discounted "package" price for the set.

I use zoom's "fat albert twin tails" most of the time on a swim jig.
