On that particular lake? yes I would be more apt to try it. For areas farther away from that lake probably not that excited.

I have a lot more faith in a bait that is "regularly recommended" on a forum (i.e. fat ika) then any bait recommended by one who is being sponsored. I do watch a lot of bass shows and do find baits that look intriguing and try them out. (i.e. spro frog poppers & pitching skirts)

Is that the oil that comes with the shimano reels and if so where in the heck can you buy it. I can find their grease, but not their oil.

I've only odered once and all was right except for a substituted color on a spro popper frog, but the color was close enough, I imagine.

It's good that you want to learn all you can to make yourself a better fisherman. That's a great attitude to have. I know some, whose pride keeps them from learning to improve from others. They figure they are smart enough to figure it out on their own.

I'm a shimano guy, but I tend to lean away from the newer models. I'm just not that impressed with many of very recent years models.

I lean towards putting the $$$$$$ on the rod and I fish with Calais and Sustains
