  1. It seems like I can always get a fish on a senko. I like variety and a challenge so many trips the old senkos stay in their pack while I work a variety of baits and techniques. If Gary can get $8 a pack, more power to him. They must work well for a lot of people,he deserves his reward.
  2. I too am right handed but use LH reels. To me it's more natural and comfortable.
  3. You need to get out and go fishing.
  4. Zooms " Fat Albert twin tails" have produces more for me than all other trailers combined.
  5. Spro bronze eye works well for me. One of the funnest, most exciting ways to fish period.
  6. I would strongly suggest you purchase the best equipment you can the first time around. It will cost less in the long run if you do decide to upgrade. As for St. Croix vs G. Loomis I own both and both are fine rods. I prefer the G. Loomis especially in the GLX. I have not had a chance to fish nrx yet but I figure it's my next rod purchase.
  7. I've got two mbr 844 GLX. I dedicate one for jig and use the other for worm, frog, & occasionally a spinnerbait. I thought of selling one and maybe trying a nrx854 but doubt I could bring myself to part with one. They are a great rod imo
  8. I agree. this will save you money in the long run if you every upgrade. I have found that to be the cause in my life, from Benelli Shotguns to GLX G. Loomis. Buy one of the best and buy it once. (until they come out with nrx ;D)
  9. What size hook are you using?? My ratio increased when I went to a larger hook, 4/0 at least.
  10. Good Advice. You can gain a lot of knowledge here, save time & money & avoid buyers remorse, but it takes time, you have to weight a lot of opinions. (some here really know what they're talking about, they can really help.)
  11. I have all Shimano reels (7) with the exception of a Quantum Tour Edition PT Burner. The Quantum has served me as well as the Shimanos so far. Time will tell.
  12. Those of you who have one or have fished with one. What do you throw on it? What applications do you feel it works well on? Thanks
  13. Ya that's the way I justify sacrificing my wallet to the bait monkey. It turns out to be like .015 cents a day ;D ;D ;D
  14. My experience, it makes the edges too rough & frays the line.
  15. I have a Calais, a Chronarch, & a Curado. My son has a Citica. For the money the Citica is hard to beat. IMO
  16. Thanks for the response. I got the info I needed. You guys are Great :)
  17. Avoid Bass Pro XPS with inserts if you ever plan on using braid. Hole is too small for 50# . I would avoid inserts altogether. Tru-Tungstens are on closes-outs in many areas due to the company going under I believe.

  19. Need the best value under $50 preferably a lot less
  20. Lindner's Angling Edge
  21. $25.75 Idaho fishing $12.75 salmon permit $12.75 steelhead permit $13.75 two pole permit
  22. Beware of xps from bps. the inserts are so small on the 1/4 oz.bullet weight that 50# braid ain't goin thru it. :
