There are times I could really use one. I sometimes fish thick trees and overhanging branches with little room to maneuver a short rod would be ideal. Hard to justify the purchase for 4 or 5 outings a year.

844c makes an excellent jig rod in the imx,glx,854nrx I imagine the gl3 would also.

Oh they can judge the weight of a fish pretty accurately "that a 4,5,6,7 pounder"

I just caught over 60 bass the other day with DEET sprayed all over me.

I like my St. Croix rod, I love my g.loomis rods a lot more.

just bought a "BERKLEY" lip grip scale for about $50. weighed a 7.5# weight and it read 8# 11 oz. Put a 25# weight in it and it reads 20# 13oz. Thought I would get a better result for the money. My old "rapala" scales were with in a 1/10 of a pound (they have a hook and are not a lip grip type) anyway the Berkley is going back. Can any one suggest a good lip grip around $50 or will I have to go with a more expensive boga grip??

When I watch Bass fishing on T.V. I always wonder how much some of the bigger fish weight. Very seldom do I see them weight a fish. It would be easy & quick to do and satisfy some curiosity that many viewers have.

Ya, I heard about magic eraser and thought who would give a cr@p about how their cork looks??? One day I saw a magic eraser in my kitchen and thought what the heck .It melted the gunk off the cork and made it look new. It was so easy I cleaned the cork on all my poles

I have 2 GLX844c one is a dedicated jig rod. I have been thinking of selling one and buying a NRX854. I know the NRX are noticeably lighter ( I have a nrx852s and a glx852s) but I have no complaints with the glx844 as a jig rod. I would really consider one over the 893 which is an excellent senko rod.

Most Braids has a tendency to floats, some braid sinks but at a far slower rate then mono and especially floro. There for weightless plastic may not descend at a desirable rate using just braid .
