Rate of Fall- The other day I was fishing weghtless senko on 8# f/c in a hole for smallies. Got 4in 4 cast then broke my line and changed over to 8# mono. Got nothing after that. Could have fished the hole out ? but when I went back to f/c (barely could get the line to the hole,20 yds of line to a hole that was 19yds away) just minutes later I picked up a couple more. I imagine it was R.O.F. cause it wasn't the bait.

Really? How about this.Is there really a limit on bass? We just came up here for humanitarian reasons. We see all the hungry children in Tennesse and thought to ourselves, lets help them out. We could go fishing up north, bring all the fish back and contribute them to this great humanitarian effort and If this works we can contribute a bunch of ducks and geese this fall. we only wanted to help

Interesting. The last few trips I've caught dozens and dozens of fish on senkos and other plastics got to a point I was looking for a something different and went vertical. I think that's key to the fun of the sport, variety.

There is also a product on the market called "rust converter". You brush any rust flakes off, but paint or spray (it also comes in aerosol cans) the product right on the rust. This product actually binds to the rust and changes it's composition making it inert. Really good stuff I've used it for years.

I catch a lot of LMB using a weighted "tube hook". It falls every eratic and tiggers hits. If I don't want to use an expose hook I t-rig them and vary the retreive until I kind what they want.

Tried the Ika out for the first time and was successful on smallies. Noticed that they were hitting it on the intial fall and I could only get 1 fish out of each hole. I tried bringing the Ika back to the surface & letting it fall slow again as I retreive it. That didn't work, all the fish I caught was on that first drop. I also tried slow retreives letting it scrape the bottom and tried short hops, nothing. Any Ideas?

I think your wise going with a 3 power. I have a bsr852 & find it lacking on long hook set. I' ve been toying with the idea of a bsr803.

Yea, pretty slow so far this cool rainy spring, but I did nab 2X 18'' smallies @ CJ along w/a couple dozen smaller ones. Lowell's water is up again this year. Last year @ this time we were slaughtering them. I did manage a 2.4 lb. LMB a couple of weeks ago & then a half a dozen peanuts last week, fishing a couple hours in the rain & wind. But all in all a little disappointing so far w/ temps. 10-15 degrees below normal.

I travel a lot & keep some gear with me in the car just in case I see a promising chance. On these occasions I might only have a few minutes for a couple casts. WEIGHTLESS SENKO!!!
