  1. I caught the 6 lber in my avatar in prime spawning time for us down here in georgia and then about 1 and half weeks ago i caught a 9 lber on a bluegill bed with a blue black laminate 5 inch senko that thing pulled like a hoss, im a little too lazy to post a pic of it lol im still in my hunt for the DD
  2. There are plenty of great lipless cranks out there and it certainly is tough to find the right one basically i will break it down for you a bit -most of the ones you will buy the hooks arent that great, so you may want to replace them -the chrome and blue or chrome and blue and black rat l traps work very well if you want to find fish fast -I really think the best lipless crank i have used is the megabass vibration x ratle, im not going to lie 20 bucks is a LOT for a lure but this thing is magical, in tennesee shad honestly its a beast -Also if you are looking for a good cheaper one rapala makes one and just replace the hooks on it and your good to go, i mean this thing is great. I really like the firetiger color. It cost 2.99 Link-http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_2848_100005001_100000000_100005000_100-5-1 So if your looking to find fish fast or powerfish try out these
  3. Thats true, but the thing is the canal I fish in is totally fresh water, and has no ditches or estuaries that lead to brackish or salt water. So it was either a gar which I doubt, they usually make a big scene at the hookset haha, or a big bass which Im leaning towards because this thing imediately dove for heavy cover and basically stayed in one spot throbbing or "digging" in the stuff. My biggest bass thus far has only been around 6 pounds, and I caught that when I was really little so Im not too sure on what a really big bass fights like...but maybe now I know? the 9 pounder i caught actually pulled a lot harder than i thought it would so i could have been a large bass, but that would have been cool if it was a gar though 8-) good job with the advice these guys gave
  4. there are multiple topics stickyied at the top of this forum for senkos Senkos FAQ check that out but for me senkos are godly, this is what i do fav color-black blue laminate cast it out watch for a line twitch on the fall make sure your line isnt to slack so you can see the hit then just deadstick it for about 30 seconds, give a small twitch combo 2 or more and then deadstick it again, then lift it up a couple times and let it fall again, (most of your strikes are on the fall) just vary up those combos right there and you will catch fish i prefer to have mine tex rigged weightless with a 4/0 ewg gam hook if you figure the senko out it will pay off big time
  5. i went to i caught one on a rat l trap near the end it was pretty horrible tons of people were there and they didnt look like they were catching anything i may have not tried the right spots though

i dont care if it doesnt work out with 22 inches u werent there so HA! and i just did the math and with 22 incher i needed 17.5 inch girth for it to be 8.5 lber so i dont think thats imposible ?and my scale isnt off by like 5 pounds trust me it wasnt a dink and my statement was to be taken as a joke AL and btw how long was ur 9 lber then 89 inches? ;D
  8. Rob.Atl replied to Rob.Atl's topic in Fishing Reports
no im not sure i did the length in a hurry 22 inches probably at longest though and ijust checked my scale it was .5 to much so the bass was 8.5 and around 21-22 inches for all you haters out there now just let me enjoy my moment of glory 8-) without doubting me anymore

as in a replica mount i let the fish go so i dont see how thats bad and btw i dont really care if u doubt the weight i weighed it my friend (castamasta) was there and was in the same boat, the picture may not justify the bass since my fish is not extreemly close to the camera and im not holding it out with streched arms, it may have been a little longer than that since i did the length quickly on this littler ruler thing on the boat but i wanted to get the fish back in the water

I caught this hawg around 2:00 on a grass shore with a black and blue senko. It weighed 9lbs, it was like 19 inches lol it was so fat At first i didnt even noticed i had a fish on, I thought that I was stuck in a log or something but then my line started to move and i started taking my drag So i knew it was huge, It was actually a really good fight. I thought it was a DD though > but im fine with a 9lber I had a great day 8-)

  24. yea i have done that before with a real aggresive male guarding the bed i just like to tick them off alot just the other day for instance -i fished a senko for it for about 10 mins and annoyed it alot got some tugs but set the hook to soon -then whipped out a crank for 5 mins just would cast past it then bring it in extremly fast at the bass then stop right in front of it and then go past it slowly and would dig into the bed and screw around in there -and sooner or later i knew i was going to get it, and i did lol i was stoked for such a small fish lol but it was worth it ;D
