  1. Ike and all other pro fishermen are business men. Period. If you think that they fish a certain brand because they think it's the best then you are sadly mistaken. All the major company's make trail worthy equipment. All pro fishermen need to be business men even more then they need to be the best fishermen if they want to support themselves.
  2. I'm looking to get a spinning rod for light applications such as finesse worms and maybe the occasional shaky head. I want something with a light sensitive tip but with solid back bone. I've liked the mag-light action rods I've used but would like a Falcon as I already have some Lowriders which a really like and would like to stick with the same brand (I'm just that kind of guy). I don't think Falcon has any mag-light action rods and most light tip spinning rods don't have the backbone I want. Anyone have a suggestion for a suitable Falcon model?
  3. Nice yote. You should try your hand at calling them in. Almost as addictive as bass fishing!!
  4. Makes sense to me. Why have a separate tour anyway. All these lady's are more than welcome to continue fishing opens and such and work their way up the ranks. Am I wrong? :-?
  5. Spectacular!! Thanks for the post!
  6. I've put alot of rounds through both Bushmaster and DPMS rifles, and while both are quality AR's I would steer you towards a DPMS based on reliability and customer service. Stay away from the Colts.
  7. Check out Trampled By Turtles. Good Stuff!!
  8. 19 inches is a very respectable Wisconsin largemouth, Congrats and keep after em!!
  9. Yup, I put them in that order for a reason. That's how I look at it too. I feel that if the presentation is correct little else will matter. And for those saying location I understand what you mean but that's not really what I am looking for. I'm talking after you have found the fish or believe you have. I guess weedless or snag less would be a good option as I know there are times I pick a bait on only those factors. Whats the point of throwing anything if you can't fish it due to hanging up all the time. Good responses, keep em coming!
  10. Just wondering what everyone thinks are the most important things about a bait you choose to fish in any given condition. I'm talking: 1.Presentation(fast, slow, vertical, horizontal, ect.) 2.Profile(Shad, sunfish, crawdad, ect.) 3.Scent/Taste 4.Color 5.Sound When you pick out a bait what are the top reasons your chosing that one??
  11. The jig fishermen's equivalent to a Playboy centerfold!! Nice!!
  12. Nice Job and nice fish!!
  13. Does anyone clip or remove the front treble on lipless cranks or shallow wood bumping cranks? I was thinking about trying it for fishing grass and wood and reducing snags. I'm wondering how much this would hurt the action and hook-up ratio. Thanks in advance.
  14. Nice bird man!!
  15. I don't feel that way at all fishfordollars. Thank you for your service!!
  16. Yup, thats Jason Aldean. Good song!
  17. Jason Aldean?? If you remember any lyrics it would help.
  18. Learning to fish a jig can be one of the most frustrating things to learn, I know it took me a while. If you really want to learn, commit yourself to only fishing a jig for a few trips. I can tell you that after you catch your first one it seems to "click" and may become one of your favorite techniques. Try hopping it slowly, or jerking it up hard and letting it fall, or just dragging it across the bottom, or pitching it to cover. Any of these will catch fish. It'll be worth your time.
  19. I would be looking more at the 3500-4500cu.in. range. Alot depends on the size of your float tube, sleeping bag, tent? How much food do you think you'll need to take? I would look at www.backcountry.com they have a very good selection with good prices and reviews. If you can make it to REI get the pack on your back and get some weight in it(they should let u do this). See how it feels. If your going any distance with much weight it will pay off BIG to get a pack made to carry your type of load and one that you find comfortable. You will regret it if you skimp on the pack and are hiking 5 miles with an unbalanced load. Think of it like fishing line, your pack is the link between you and all your equipment!! Have fun!! ;D
  20. I'm in the process of applying for internships, have been for about the last 2 months, and man it is tough. I need one in the natural resources area(soils, forestry, crops, DNR, etc) and have had quite a bit of interest but can't seem to get definite answers from anyone yet, and the pickings are pretty slim too. My problem is I need to have it finalized by the end of the month, and no one seems to know what their doing yet. Anyone else taking an internship this summer? Taken one in the past? Still looking? How can I get them to hurry up without sounding like a jerk and getting passed over?
  21. If they sold fishing stuff I would never get offline!! www.steepandcheap.com ;D
  22. Scary stuff. I've read some of that too, but I can't see it happening. Who would enforce this? I am pretty sure the local law in my area would have a major problem with it. I also think that even though they may talk about it they have to be smarter then to really believe people would stand for something like this. I know several who would not. I'm still young and my blood runs hot! >
