  1. Bassdocktor, why can't you own a handgun? I thought there was a similar law in DC that was overturned last year because it was unconstitutional? Seems it should be the same in Chicago? I'm I wrong about this?
  2. I think an amber lens is about the best all around.
  3. I'm thinking a 14 inch swimbait in baby bass may be in order??!
  4. Welcome!!
  5. Welcome!!
  6. I generally put a very tiny split shot just in front of my hook eye. Cast and let fall a little, how much depends on depth, and then twitch it up and let it fall again. How fast you move it depends on the fishes mood but 90% of the time I am barely twitching it and they hit it when it's falling. It's pretty hard to fish them a wrong way, just start throwing some and you'll figure it out.
  7. True, but not like they do in the spring. You might hear an occasional gobble throughout the year, and some strutting, but nothing like the show they put on in spring!!
  8. Zoom Speed craw as said above, or you can do the same thing with a Sweet Beaver for a more subtle presentation

X2 I've used the renagades and Strike kings from wally world and their ok and cheap. Try on a few pairs and find some that fit your face well and have large enough lenses to keep out all sunlight. They might not look as cool but you'll be able to see much better 8-)

  12. Welcome!!
  13. Anyone hearing any gobbling yet? It's still pretty early here in WI but some of you southern boys are probably hearing some, eh? One of my favorite spring activitys is to stop on a ridge in the early morning and hear that first gobble of the year. Few things compare!! 8-)
  14. I think you will limit yourself if you only use jigs without a rattle or vice versa. I generally take rattles off of my jigs if they come with them, but keep the rattles in my tackle box for use when fishing muddy water or when fish seem to be in the mood to actively chase prey.
  15. Welcome!! I think you'll find plenty of dink whispering friends around
  16. Forestry student at the University of Stevens Point-Wisconsin ;D
  17. Try googling Enteric Red mouth disease. I think it's mainly a factor in trout though.
  18. Anybody else ready for some spring turkey hunting?
  19. Thanks. Pure accident, both catching the fish and the pic. Took it with a cellphone in a hurry because she needed to get back in the water.
  20. Falcon would be a good choice for your price range, or any price range for that matter. I've never used Daiwa so can't comment on them.
  21. I've caught a couple like that.Since the fish looks healthy otherwise it's probably just a early defect as said above. There is a disease caused by a bacteria that can cause this symptom, called Mycobacteriosis, but I think that is usually associated with other symptoms.
