  1. I have last years Dell Inspiron 1520 with Vista. I love it. I would never go back to XP, and thats a good thing because a lot of programs are leaning towards Vista type displays. For instance, the 2009 AutoCAD screen looks very similar to the Windows Microsoft Word Vista screen. They basically have the same set-up.
  2. But all the teachers do favors for their buddies. My psych teacher gives us everything we need on the Powerpoint notes. But we still had to buy two books. Both of which he highly recommended for our "success". He told us they were written by his friends at Brown after we had all purchased them. > Here at Appalachian State, we are 1 of 2 in the Country that uses a textbook rental system. I paid $87 to rent just about all of my books. Some teachers are weird and make you buy theirs though. I've only had to buy about 4 books in 2 years. To add to that, I never do the assigned readings, so I never really need my books. Most teachers don't teach straight from the book anyway. When they hand out their powerpoints and study guides, the book is only a small study reference. There have been plenty of times when I found what I needed on Google.
  3. What? :-? But seriously... What???
  4. Not all technologies will fail at once though. Verizon Wireless has a service called backup assistant that stores all your phone numbers to another server. I've gone through 3 phones just this year without losing a number. I predict in the future there will be no books at all.
  5. That works in High School.
  6. Seriously... I haven't used an encyclopedia in over five years. I've used online versions, but not hard copies. This is true, along with the dictionary, thesaurus, etc. Honestly, I couldn't do long division if I tried. We rarely wrote problems all the way through in my college math class. We pretty much spent the whole semester learning how to use calculators.
  7. I call it privileged. I haven't had a college exam without a study guide yet. Why WOULD you go to class???
  8. I caught a 90lb+ bag in the tourney mode with a 21lb 9oz kicker!
  9. Neat post. Trout fishing is huge around here.

    Welcome from N.C.!
  12. Most E-Commerce 101 classes will teach you that some merchandise just won't sell well on the internet. That people just aren't comfortable buying something sight unseen. Jewelry, stamps and coins, antiques are just a few. It's the reason those E-grocery stores never took off. Folks just don't want a bag of groceries, usually with perishables like meat and produce showing up, delivered to their doorstep, that they had no involvement in choosing the actual product that wound up in the bag, despite how fresh or good the product might be. I see. That makes sense.
  13. I'm not sure. I know they have their own website. I got mine from the college bookstore.
  14. X2. These are amazing, and they come in a couple of different colors.
  15. My roomate's parents run a jewelry store in downtown Atlanta. I remember him saying one time that they didn't have much success selling on eBay, so they use Overstock.com.
  16. Hey

    Hey! Bye!
  17. This is the only side effect my dad has, and he knows it. I think the doctor even put him on another medication to help that.
  18. And any fish that gets away automatically doubles in size! 8-) True that! ;D
  19. I came very close to making a trip to Boone this week. Wife wanted to go camping one last time (nice campground north of ASU), but we couldn't manage to get away. Would love to be down there when school is in session. Hippie girl free love and all that. This is homecoming weekend, so its either a really good time to come, or a really bad time. (However you look at it.) And oh, I can hook you up dude.
  20. Here in Boone the high is 58 with a low of 34. Gotta love mountain weather.
