Problem with jig fishing/pitching?
The "small silver knob." (The cast control knob) Pull out enough line right when your jig hits the water.

Y'all Ready?
This guy's got his priorities straight. Yeah, I assume ya'll are cheering for the ASU Mountaineers! ;D

man this sucks
Yeah, it will suck for the next 2+ years buddy. I had them for 3 years I think, but in the end it's worth it I promise.

When do you say something?
But the other side of the coin is that these people will probably become frustrated in their beginning attempts and never become avid fishermen. If someone obviously doesn't know what they are doing I will offer advice without being asked. As a poster above said this doesn't necessarily mean that they are buying an odd variety of stuff, but that they truly have the deer in the headlights look. These people need help to have some success so that they can enjoy our sport and become proponents for it. We need all the support we can get. I run into this more at Wal-Mart than anything else and I think that it is worth 5 minutes of my time to try and increase someone else's love of the outdoors. I see where you're coming from, but I started out with a worm and a bobber 10 years ago. I never had anyone to teach me. I think the hardcore fisherman who really love the sport will stick with it.

What water do you fish?
Mostly farm ponds.

When do you say something?
I would never want anyone telling me how to spend my money, so I would never tell somebody else how to spend theirs. I would be more than happy to help if asked, but I don't see it as being any of my business. I would never tell anyone which clothes to buy or which groceries they should buy. I'll leave it to them. Everybody starts somewhere, right?

Tackle - am I missing anything
You will never have enough tackle IMO. You will never even FEEL like you have enough tackle.

Y'all Ready?
No sir, I'll be watching it in my air conditioned apartment. I've always wanted to visit Baton Rouge though. From what I hear Charleston, SC is supposed to be a mini Baton Rouge and I looooove eating there on vacation. Appalachian just added 4,000 seats this year, along with a 7 story press box. After breaking every single D-1AA attendance record last year it will be interesting to see what happens this year. I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. =) Our boys are confident, but not too condifent. Jerry Moore knows what he is doing, we have faith in him. Ya'll are the only team that thought about playing us, so I give you props for that. Numerous ACC teams turned us down, and we had major troubles filling our schedule. The next 3 years we open with: Flordia, VT, and Georgia. I'm pretty dang excited.

Check your gear......BEFORE you go out fishing!
You'll find that is the easiest way to learn. Bet it won't happen again! Keep at it man! ;D

River Question
Thank you EVERYONE!!!

Y'all Ready?
GA Southern is pretty dang good, and they have Ohio States QB. With all your players missing I'd be a little bit worried. They drilled us last year ending a 30 something winning streak in Boone.

Zoom Toad help.
You can use a regular 4/0 or 5/0 hook. Check out Ragetail's site because they have instructions on how to rig their frogs. Zoom Horny Toads and the Ragetail frog are close to the same bait. If you a looking for a floating frog I like to stick with Spro and Scumfrogs. Good luck!

Flounder fishing techniques
What 71rig said will work, but not as well as the rig you described. Live bait is always bettter; you have that part down pat. Circle hooks work best. Feeling flounder bite is the hardest part. Just drag your bait really slow like you would a plastic worm. I have a friend that lives on Oak Island we fish for them off of the pier most of the time. There we just drop them straight down and drag them alongside of the pier. Good luck!

First time Senko experience today
Also, when you wear one end out flip it around and fish it backwards. It works just as well.

Downloading music
I used Limewire and Imesh until I ruined 3 straight computers because of viruses. I stick with Itunes now, and I never have to worry about poor quality or viruses.

My recent pond experience...
