When you fish from a pier you're going to run into instances like that always. Fish run by the piers in huge schools that may last 5 minutes or a couple of days. I just got back from pier and surf fishing off the NC coast. Unfortunately the sharks had just hatched and we couldn't keep them off our line. One day we caught around 30 sharks and 1 trout. However, there were times when a school of trout would swim by and every single person on the whole pier would catch their limit. So really, fish come by at certian times, and at certian times of the year. For instance, pier and surf fishing off the NC coast is best during spring and fall when all kinds of fish come in. So really to sum up, find out what fish are in and fish for it. Sometimes theres nothing you can do. Live bait will outfish frozen baits, so give that a try to catch something different. I'm not sure what ya'll use out there, but here we use plugs for trout, and live minnows for flounder. Anyway, that's how things work out here. Hope it helps!

Hey Dylan! During the middle of the day my biggest fish come from the shady areas produced by trees overhanging the water. I also like to fish tight to cover and parallel to shorelines. Welcome to the forums!

I've used the Spro and the Scumfrog. I've had more success with the Scumfrog even though it seems to take on more water than the ridiculously expensive Spro. Both work though. To each his own.

I have several. I'll fill my main one up with stuff I think I'll use on an outing, another has "maintenence stuff" and another has extra baits. The last 2 usually stay in the car.

The Cavitron may be "weedless", but I think it kind of defeats the purpose when your blades won't even turn because of the grass and gunk. For really weedless buzzbaits, I would go with some type of plastic, i.e. horny toad, rage tail shad, frog, blah, blah, blah...

I too like the WII sports. Bowling is my favorite. Boxing makes me sore.

Try bigger ones. Also try goldfish. I've seen HUGE fish caught with goldfish.
