  1. Hey Uncle Leo, I cant rember to well but I think I bought one of your Curado 200D's las summer....and often thought of upgrading to the E7, but everywhere I turn makes me point back to the D I currently throw, is there that much of a difference? thnks. Yes you did it was the 5.1-1 have you a good deal as I recall. The E is much lighter and sets lower in the seat that 200D does not compare when casting Light baits.
  2. 0 Buy what you can afford. Try to pay cash, you can cacth fish out os a 14 ft Jon Baot if that's all you can afford. 2004 Nitro 700 DX
  3. I am happy for youse guys, spoken like a true Southsider.
  4. Try a keel weight hook, I find that a 4/0 EWG with 1/8 weight works the best. You can swim it at all depths.
  5. Wormin but to be more specific, T-Rigging. Love trying different plastic baits with weight combinations. IMHO the most varying technique for all conditions. Can be fished top, middle and bottom.
  6. Sorry to steal this thread.A 7.5 is a good fish, but I am surprised that was the biggest you guys caught out of choke. This year they were pulling 12's 13's 14's and I think a couple of 15's up pretty regularly. Sorry 9lbs 2oz was the biggest boated, Lost 3 that looked to be double digits. Us Northern Boys were just not use to having bigguns jump so much at the boat. Unfortnately these were on crankbaits, d**n treble hooks.
  7. This is good news but I hate to be that kid when Dad gets to him.
  8. Here is one I learned form a guide in Texas on Choke Canyon. Insert a nail weight in the fat end of a Zoom Trick Worm. TexPose a 3/0 EWG hook inserting 3/8 down from the thin end, cast and drag it. We called it the Tricky Dick. The worm stands on end and the 3/8 portion on the top hangs limp. Do not know what it is suppose to represent but caught a bunch with the largest at 7.5 lbs. Works great.
  9. Try throwing a weightless Senko into the boil. If it is game fish they may think the Senko is a injured Blue Gill and take it.
  10. Good job Ken, have to say not many fallen soldiers for that kind of production. Them Rage Tails sure hold up don't they? The wind reminded you of the Roadtrip I am sure.
  11. Or is that Pancakes, , sorry could not resist.
  12. I believe they added a crawfish scent to the new formula. It definitely smells different. Is that what you may be smelling?
  13. I could not agree more. It is all about finding the fish. You can always get one to bite something. Know the water you are fishing, look for something they will relate to and take advantage of their aggressive behavior.
  14. One of my many fears, thank goodness someone was there to help retrieve it.
  15. I have been using the E7 for a few months now and have used the D's for years. Shimano hit a homerun with the new Curados. They cast as good as the D's and are a bit smoother on retrieve. They cast light weights well if paired with the right rod. Believe it or not I have yet to backlash the E7.
  16. If Triton sent you a letter it sounds like this may be a warranty issue. I would take in to a dealer and have it fixed.
  17. That's better then a World Record, she very cute, hope Mom is doing well and gets some rest.
  18. I likey the Junebug, for some reason that color has been productive for me this year. I would love to have one in a Jig. Good job!
  19. Congratulations and have a great honeymoon. I had my wedding ring re-sized 3 times and have not worn it for 6 months, no time to re-size again. You can still see the mark it made.
  20. After the photo was posted I have a better understanding, looks about 3 pounds to me but a nice fish.
  21. 1) Rage Tail Chunk 2) Paca Chunk 3) See above
  22. I used Evolution and so did my fishing partner. We had this line break on hook sets, both of us. We compared lot numbers to see if we had a bad lot, both were different. We sent e-mails to P-Line to see what their take was on it and never received a response. he only reason we even tried it was CXX was so outstanding. This is my only experience with Evolution, which was a bad one, I will never use again unless I hear other folks positive usage which to date I have not really heard much about. I would recommend CXX
  23. 3 pieces and you still landed it? Screw the rod I want to know what line were you using? I want some!
  24. Huh? Duh! ;D Now I see someone has a particular fondness I guess! LOL
