I have experienced the same thing. This is during the shad spawn. There is a small window when you can catch them. I had the most luck with a Rattle Trap type bait where you can change depth easily. After this window is closed the bite can be tough for at least two weeks. This happens on our cooling lakes here, when this happens forget these lakes for a while.

For $450 it should carry a lifetime warranty IMO.

Falcon Cara T7, exteemly light and sensitive. In my opinion prtobably underpriced. Great warranty and trade up program much like St Croix. Give it a look you may be suprised.

In my line of work large scale manufacturing when oil prices were up we shiting in high cotton. We support the mining industry so equipment was being sold to support the excavating of the Tar Sands in Alberta. Also copper was at an all time high so the mining of copper was up due to this. The minute the prices fell manufacturing suffered. I know nobody likes to pay high gas prices, high steel prices and high copper pipe prices but it sure did simulate the ecomony when it came to manufacturing. On top of this we had the opportunity to finally make money on China instead of sending our manufacturing to them.

You can not beat tungsten, given enough practice I have learned to identify bottom content due to the sensitivity. This has provided more success in catch rate for me. The same can be said for lead but IMHO tungsten increases sensitivity. I found no differance in color.

I learned to cast on baitcasters, some 40 years ago on equipment that was 10-15 years old at the time. Of course todays equipment is far superior but I never did lose the habit of thumb control for this reason both are fine.

Plastics, can always count a bite with these. This bait gives you such a vast quantity of size, profile and color that you can always get something to bite them. Along with this you can modify your presentation numerous ways.

I use the Baby Beavers as a jig tip. The fatter body helps to keep the skirt flared out. At times I found this to make a differance on a tough bite. *** has a nice Baby Beaver.

They are scared of him, he is a cross between Ditka and Napoleon.

I still hate the Cubs

I was wondering where that Sox vote came from. I will agree that Ozzie is more entertaining but that's cause he is a nut case himself. Lou is much more funny in the true sense of the word. 8-) How did you get away with voting the Cubs 3 X?

No way Big Z is the best, maybe I do like the Cubs a little, boy the 70's were rough.

No, it is just that people in the rest of the country don't realize how small and pressured our lakes are. We do have big fish out here but they have all been caught numerous times and to get them to bite is not an easy task. I've had my share of 25lb sacks but non of them came easily. What I really meant but did not properly state is you have the opportunity for a 25 lb bag. We have a very limited opportunity. The largest lake I have readily available is 2500 acre. Not big based on others. We have pressure but not year around. At times we can have 75 boats on a 200 acre lake which seems pressured to me. I usely fish on a 300 acre lake with maybe 16 boats but still will never see 25 lbs unless I catch 25 fish.
