  1. In my opinion you should choose the most sensitive rod based on your feel. A Jig at times can be hard to detect. I found that asking this type of question you will get a multitude of answers. Waht is most imprtant is the sensitivity and that can be very subjective based on personal preferance. I use two differant Rods based on size of jig and conditions. One is a Falcon Cara and one is a Kistler Argon. 6'10" and 7'1". Heavy and MH. Both can be used for a 1/4-3/4 oz jig. It is best to have a Fast or XFast action. Also keep in mind that Floro or Braid will help in sensitivity choose based on water clarity. My 2 cents.
  2. It seems like anytime is a good time based on this. I guess it depends on what your looking ofr and if you devised a way to beat the heat like Raul does. I guess I would fish whenever I feel the need. Believe me it would not hurt for me to shed a pounds.
  3. Nice catch Dan, I checked out your web page and it looks like you have a history of catching big ones, good job!
  4. I was wondering the same as I will be in Orlando next week on business and thought I would stop in. At least this will save me a trip across town.
  5. I think you may be better off with the DSV of the Curado. These 100's cast like a dream and you could spool it. I came close on my 100D with a 3/4 weight.
  6. There will be no Chicken for you Burley.
  7. Good job Patrick!
  8. Corona and Lime, now that's what I'm talking about!
  9. Ken your going to have to give that thumb a rest. If not net them or get a landing glove. You are on a roll my friend.
  10. I like fishing mine on a skirted jig. The wide body helps to flair the skirt and slows the fall.
  11. Hello and welcome. I love profound questions. I would have to stop beating the banks and start working the ledges.
  12. I have used these jig heads. Work great with a Super Brush Hog. Never thought about the Anaconda, thanks.
  13. I believe JJ's can only be bought on their website.
  14. Outstanding, good job young man!
  15. No matter to me. What I find more important is the knowledge I gained over the years. True modern equipment has made it easier but my knowledge is what catches the bass. But if I must choose it would be my Owner EWG hooks. Very thought provoking Glen.
  16. Have a good one Mike. What is IT the Big 50?
  17. I just picked a spool of BPS Flouro and plan on using it this weekend. I have heard good things about it so I figured I give it a go.
  18. I too have noticed this. Joking is fun but there has been too much judgement placed on folks who truely do not know something and ask a question. One of the reason I joined this site was to leasrn and I have done that. Now it is our turn to help others. In the spirit of RESOURCE lets try to get back to this.
  19. I do not know about that Kelley, we are a couple of big boys.
  20. Do I hear ROADTRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want in Kelley's boat. Or maybe we can go down and vist Kelley.
  21. I agree. I have a 17 ft Nitro with 90 HP and had a 46 lb on it. In the wind you want larger. I would drain the battery trying to hold in the wind. I now have a 70 lb and never drain the battery. If you can not afford to go larger try a wind sock, they work great. If wind is not an issue you should be fine. Unfortuantely I only get to fish on the weekend so I will battle wind, cold rain and sometimes snow.
  22. Yes this happens, sleep on it and tomorrow you will order more.
  23. Bob and his buddies were hanging out and planning upcoming fishing trip. Unfortunately, he had to tell them that he couldn't go this time because his wife wouldn't let him. After a lot of teasing and name calling, Bob headed home frustrated. The following week when Bob's buddies arrived at the lake to set up camp, they were shocked to see Bob. He was already sitting at the campground witha cold beer, swag rolled out, fishing rod in hand, and a camp fire glowing. "How did you talk your missus into letting you go Bob?" "I didn't have to," Bob replied. "Last week when I left our meeting, I went home and slumped down in my chair with a beer to drown my sorrows. Then the ol' lady snuck up behind me and covered my eyes and said, 'Surprise'. When I peeled her hands back, she was standing there in a beautiful see-through negligee and she said, 'Carry me into the bedroom and tie me to the bed and you can do whatever you want'.... So I did and here I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Great bass, at that length you may have more of a personal best then you think. Regardless of the weight you caught your PB thats's all that matters. Now go get a 25 " that could be a 7 lber!
