  1. I would think you may get over 60 MPH with this set up. I have a Nitro LX 700 with a 90 HP. I top out at 58 MPH with minimun weight and no chop so I can tweak her in. No doubt over 60 MPH is optainable.
  2. Try perfomance tuning it. I had the same problem. Took it apart used toothpaste with baking soda on the gears. Spun ever so gently with a drill motor, low speed with the handle off. Clean throughly and regrease. Tip from Al Linder, in some magazine I read. Worked like a charm.
  3. I own both the Revo and Curado. For throwing most everything I perfer the Curado 100D over the Revo.
  4. Looks like fun, I would like to plan on Kentucky Lake after seeing that video. How will this be communciated?
  5. Welcome, being from Illinois myself I was wondering which lake you were on? Sounds like one of the Cooling Lakes when yu talk about casting into a pod of shad. I always had luck with Shad Raps and Rattle Traps (love the Aruka Shad). Always best to get under the school, that's where the big ones normally are, like the Stripers.
  6. There is a ST Crouix ACMF66 for sell in the MArket on this site for 85 bucks, can not go wrong with this rod.
  7. Next generation, look out Ike here comes another one.
  8. Welcome to all our foreign friends, good fishing.
  9. Can't go wrong with that rod, Premeir. I also have one along with 3 Avids. These are some of my better rods.
  10. I have a couple of Compres, one spinning and one baitcaster, although not my favorite amount the other rods I have they are a great rod for the money.
  11. Will be there over the Memorial Day Weekend. Anyone have any idea how the fishing has been?
  12. I have a 6 1/2 foot MH that I bought for use in Texas Rigging. This rod is super senstive and I would have to say my hookup ratio increased by 50%. Highly recommend escepically at that price.
  13. If it is stopping in mid flight and embedding your spool tension may be too tight. I did not see where you mentioned that. Loosen so your lure just starts to drop but just about stops when it hits the deck. If this is not the issue then blame it on braid. This tends to happen to me also with braid so I never use it in casting situations.
  14. My partner outfishes me in the back of the boat. My excuse is I am too busy guiding and putting him on fish. That's my story and I am sticking with it.
  15. If you go 51 miles south near Matoon you can fish Lake Shelbeyville. 83 miles SW and you can fish Sangchris Lake. Both are good for bass. Sangchris has produced the state record Stripe Bass so you never know.
  16. I have the XPS, batteries always stay charged. I like the go fish feature, no guessing.
  17. With good electronics you will be too busy catching fish to be setting. Get the electronics.
  18. I agree CXX is just great. Trilene also use to make Iron Silk which was tough as all heck. They never made it in clear though and took it off the market. I have landed all sorts of things with Iron Silk at the end of a crankbait it just would not break. Much like CXX.
  19. I own both the JM Signature Series and the Energy PT. Both a good reels. I prefer the JM but you can not go wrong with either. Just as ghoti stated the JM is much better for lighter weights. I also have thrown down to 3/16 but could not with the Energy.
  20. Great tornament, a thrill a minute ;D. The only thing which could have been better is Zona going down, just something funny about a man falling down.
  21. I beleive you have fished with Roland Martin and schooled him on catching Bass in NYC.
  22. Great interview Glenn, outstanding questions. Jeff was extremely informative and open with his answers. It is refreshing to see such a down to earth type pro. Then again all fishing pros seem that way, unlike the NBA. I really liked his advice on how not to go pro, great to see he learned from his mosatkes and accepts them, this will pay dividends on the water.
  23. Curado 100 not to far but won 10 bucks from my partner Saturday. I hit a turtle at 50 yards that was perched on a log. Van Dam has it right, also caught by hitting the mark, rarely by a long cast. By the way I did not go double or nothing, but I bought the first beer.
  24. Curado 100 not to far but won 10 bucks from my partner Saturday. I hit a turtle at 50 yards that was perched on a log. Van Dam has it right, also caught by hitting the mark, rarely by a long cast.
  25. I seen a fishing show where this guide was caughting them like crazy in a slip near the airport. Do not know exactly where that is but he was killing them.
