Fished this morning. On the water at 5:30 AM off by 9:30, only way to go in the summer. Caught 7 on weightless Senko.

Has to be a baitcaster. Unlike some I cast more accurately and with more distance then a spinning reel. Use both but I would stick with a baitcaster.

It will need to be re-tipped. If it is a good rod I would take it in. You can buy replacement tips which will give you instructions and the glue to re-attach. In any case replacement is required.

RM, Of all the reels on the market what would you condsider to be the best buy? Of course taking reliability and cost into consideration.

Try this, my fishing partner and I, consider one Bass in the boat equals no skunk. Seems everytime we do this neither is skunked. We have not been skunked at all this year.

I agree on the porpoising problem. My Nitro was terrible for this until I added a foil. Have broken one backing into a submerged tree also. Has increased my speed by about 3 MPH on the top end. Good investment.
