The Va state record is 3-10 I believe. You skipped a page or two didnt you.... ;D it was a largemouth, no teeth on tongue and the jawline went past the eye, though not very much at all. Had it not been full of eggs I may have called the game warden to check it out.....it was a tough call. It makes me feel better to leave it as a largemouth.
  2. I have the IMX 843 that I use for anything that I fish on the bottom up to say a 3/4 oz jig or carolina rig, anything bigger than 3/4 oz, I go to a heavy action rod. It's one of my favorite rods....got it paired with a Revo Premier. The IMX is plenty sensitive as I'm sure you know, but if you've got the extra $$$, by all means, go GLX. What were you considering throwing with it?
  3. Yep, once you get big enough you'll have more people to delegate at while you head to the lake.

This concerns me. The Sportsmans Warehouse that opened up here in December is WAY behind on having any of the new 2008 baits. DT Fat's, Strike King Football Jigs and swimbaits, etc....and when they run out of something, it takes them getting in 3 or 4 trucks to get some more which is usually at least 3 weeks. I hope Gander handles these situations better than Sportsmans. That's one thing I can say for Dick's is that when they run stock down late in the fall, when spring rolls around, they stock a lot of the new baits of the current year.
  5. Is that because it casts great or were you picking and pulling out backlashes and over-runs?
  6. Scrounger heads. They are impressing a lot of people. Aaron should have kept them a secret a little while longer. I've been resisting the urge to buy some but I can't hold out much longer.
  7. We have a Gander Mtn store opening here in the next month or so, how is their fishing tackle selection? Any better than a Sportsmans Warehouse? Dick's Sporting Goods?
  8. Just Google search Gemini Sports Marketing....the shirts on that site (the G2's) are the shirts the pros are wearing now. The Columbia vented shirts are nice as well but they aren't what the pros are wearing.
  9. Yep, the shaky head that Brent sells will work great with the 3X worms.
  10. Yes, great choice. I have one of those also and I feel confident using it for any type of fishing.....jigs, flukes, worms, or just whatever really. Nice rod, you'll be happy with it.

I agree with you about Serra's ability. You don't win a Gold Medal in the Pan Am Games by not being good. I like Serra although I think he dodged fighting Hughes (convenient injury about a month before the fight)....I wanted to see that one.
  12. That looks great Dave! And nice bass you got there too.
  13. I've had problems from every Quantum reel I've ever owned. Spinning reels mainly.
  14. The 3X finesse worms will last twice as long as others will. They are made with that special plastic material that is super stretchy and floats like a life jacket. The only downside is that they are a pain to rig sometimes....oh yeah, and they're expensive. I like their jig trailers just because they float so well...the claws always float up and it slows the fall of the jigs.
  15. LBH is right on with the bills. Coffins and square bills work best in brush and around laydowns. I prefer a balsa square billed crankbait because they float up quickly when you hit something and let off. If you can "crash" the bait into wood effectively, you will definitely get more reaction strikes. There are brush piles that I fish thru the summer here on my home lake that have been dropped in at specific depths on purpose. It's beacuse a lot of times it takes me hitting the top of the brushpile with the crankbait to get the bite.
  16. Burleyman, whenever you want to get rid of it, I have a home for it.
  17. That is a true statement right there. I ran out all 20 gallons today plus what was in there already.....back to the gas station in the a.m.
  18. I see a 9.9 hp Evinrude in my future....put 20 gallons in the boat and filled up the Tahoe last night. That was the most money I've ever dropped at a convenience store without bringing home any beer.
  19. The Revo SX is the only one out of the Revo lineup that I dont own multiples of. I can't figure out what it is about it but I can't cast it without getting a backlash....and I've been throwing baitcast reels for 20+ years. The STX, in my mind, is the King of all Revo's.....even over the Premier.
  20. Yeah, I hear you. Gaston is my favorite lake too. Good luck, I hope you whack 'em.
  21. Oh, well, that explains it.....I guess you still have the sign on the bottom of your boat that says "All dinks follow me"
  22. Nice! If you've never been to Buggs before, you'll love it.

That was 3 fights ago. He has fought Hughes (again) and Serra since that happened. The last time he fought Hughes, Hughes had to verbally "tap" so GSP wouldn't break his arm off. He dominated Hughes 2 times in a row.....both those fights made Hughes look like a chump....which he's definitely not. I think GSP will hammer Serra this time.
  24. Thanks Micro, I'll definitely be staying away from that dump. Step aside Burley and relinquish the Dinkmaster title.....Beast has you beat.
