  1. Burleyman, are you hearing this? Two more years pal. Nah. There are keepers in the lakes he fishes, he just can't catch'em. In 2 more years he will be catching the fry that this one just made. ;D Good point....and I'd expect no less more from the dinkmaster!
  2. A high quality beach ball would probably do the trick. And just think how many times that shad had to escape the jaws of death over the years to get that big.
  3. What is the selection process? Do members nominate members? Does the administration make the selections? The staff nominates a few members each month and we ultimately decide on one. Then the selected Elite member of the month gives a nomination of someone who he/she thinks should be given consideration in the future, then we start the nomination/voting process all over again.

  5. Way to go Dinkmaster! You are representing well! No time to erase the background this time?
  6. Some may call it old school but I'd never even consider crankin' with a braided line except for maybe on a trap or something fished around grass. Conventional billed crankbaits are always fished on mono BUT, I am trying out some fluorocarbon now on my deep crank set-up. The fluorocarbon should help me get max depth from my deep cranks and as long as my FIBERGLASS crankin' rod has enough give, the fluorcarbon should work great.
  7. I like using a bigger worm at night just because they move a lot of water and the fish seem to be able to locate them better.....and that goes for any bait I fish at night, not just worms.
  8. Buy yourself a Rico. They are somewhat light and may be a little difficult to cast on a baitcaster but it is definitely one topwater that everyone should own.
  9. I have a 7' MH G Blank that weighs 3.4 oz
  10. All I can say is that if you sink brushpiles or other things to attract fish, if a guy gets near it with a SI unit, he's going to know where your stuff is. No cover is safe anymore....thanks a lot Humminbird! ;D

At some point you should try some Berkley Power Bait plastics. I think you will like them....I know bass like 'em.
  12. I'm the most hardcore Revo fan on these boards and I didn't like any of the SX's I had. I still own Premier's, STX's and S's.....and thats it. Won't ever buy another SX.
  13. I believe Tony and Lane (of Sure Life Labs) were doing a study on this problem. Maybe one of them will chime in and shed some light.
  14. Lots of R's get left out of words up north.... Cah = Car Wata = water Pahk = park Doctah = doctor Heeyah = here etc...."Not that there's anything wrong with that" -Seinfeld ;D
  15. Yo Zuri Hybrid....high tensile strength, decent abrasion resistance, high memory. I'll use it on a baitcast reel but not on a spinning reel. The Ultra Soft may be better than Hybrid on spinning gear but I havent tried the US so I won't speak about that.
  16. I'm in. Thanks for donating the bracelet for a little while Brian.
  17. I'd be target practicing with it. Those 6 footers with the short handles are deadly accurate, plus being a medium, you should be able to cast lighter baits pretty well. I'd throw small cranks in very tight places with it.
  18. Way to go CJ! I agree, the front of the boat is the only place to be. My confidence level goes WAY down on the back deck. I like going where I want to go. ;D Good job though, next year will most likely be better for you.
  19. Hauling rods around in the bed of a truck = PVC pipe Rods in and out of rod lockers = rod sleeves Rods not leaning against the wall = rod rack
  20. Bahh! Thats just some random dude casting his Bass Pro Shops Extreme baitcaster. Looks like he switched the handle though. If it is the new Curado, they must be losing their .... on the Curado's out right now to be going back to the green reels, trying to bring back that magic.
  21. Welcome! We have some members in Mass, I'm sure they'll be along shortly.
  22. Red, thats a good reel. I have 4 of them now (2-8035's and 2-8030's) and not one problem from any of them.
  23. Pond Hopper, try stretching the sleeves out just a little bit by hand before pulling them on, especially over bigger guides. They shouldn't rip if you do that first and eventually the sleeves will sort of mold themselves onto each rod. Send me your address again and I'll mail you a replacement. One more thing. The sleeves I have for sale will not totally protect a rod from breakage (car door, stepping on etc....) but they will prevent nicks and deep scratches that can cause blank failure. Plus they protect your guides and such when putting in or taking rods from the rod locker. The original poster of this thread might be looking for something like PVC.
