How do YOU deal with EXTREMELY LOW WATER?
This is a highland reservoir in Virginia which is very deep and clear, 4ft low really isnt that bad here. All of the fish I weighed in were at least 15ft deep except one that was way up shallow on a point. Finesse was the key though....drop shot w/ Roboworm FX and shaky head w/ power shaky worm.

How do YOU deal with EXTREMELY LOW WATER?
Does this guarantee us a win? Catt, as you know there are not many guarantees in life.....but I did win yesterday. .....was culling at 9am. It was a good day. The water was down but it had been that way all summer and the fish seem to have gotten used to it.

Bought a Loomis....you guys would be proud
Yesterday I took a little road trip to a tackle shop that I've never been in that carries high end stuff...."Craw" put me onto this shop. Anyway, I went in looking for another Helium spinning rod and the shop was fresh out. The guy behind the counter says, "I got plenty of Loomis rods back there" but I told him that I havent bought a Loomis in 7 or 8 years and I was looking to add to my Helium supply. I grabbed a few things I needed and went to checkout....the guy says, I'll cut you a great deal on a Loomis/Sahara combo which he conveniently had sitting behind the counter. It was an IMX SJR782 with a brand new Sahara hanging on it. I picked it up and waved it around a little and it felt pretty good so I ask him how much for the combo. He grabbed his calculator and started punching #'s and comes up with $200 flat for both. The Loomis sticker on the rod handle said $235 and the Sahara's sell for $60 pretty much everywhere so I told him to ring 'em up! Brought 'em home, put the Sahara back in its box and put a Pflueger Supreme 8035MG on the IMX. I used it all day today and must say, it's pretty sweet. I can see myself buying some more in the near future and the guy says that he sells Loomis below retail every once in a while. That is all he needed to say. He's going to love seeing me pull into the parking lot! ;D

Rods and Reels>>>and BASS
Where do they sell these $40 dollar bass boats? Do they have a website? ;D Back to the topic. I agree. You could catch the world record largemouth with a Zebco 202 and a 5' ultralight Ugly Stik if you are in the right place at the right time.

Right, wrong or indifferent?
RIGHT ON RAUL! The threads would be easier to read and probably more helpful for the members who are actually looking for honest opinions of other (insert brand here) owners.

How do YOU deal with EXTREMELY LOW WATER?

Right, wrong or indifferent?
I agree. So many different personalities coming together in one place.....its bound to happen sometimes.

Right, wrong or indifferent?
I've noticed there are alot of people who are loyal to what they use and think everything else is junk.

Brand New Revo SX BLOWS UP!!!!!
The Shimano Posse will love this post.....but since the guy said they'd replace it if BPS didnt, it sounds like operator error to me. Those winders can be cranked way up and when things get cranked up that fast, things happen, it could happen to ANY reel. It wont stop me from buying more Revo's.

How do YOU deal with EXTREMELY LOW WATER?
Have to fish a lake this weekend that I hit about twice a year. Word is the lake is down 16'.....so everything I know to fish is out of the water. Water temps are mid 70's, lake is loaded with smallmouth and largemouth. I have a good idea about what I'm going to do but in case it doesnt work out, I'm looking for some general ideas from some people who fish in extremely low water conditions.

Got my new Abu...
The Revo's are sweet. I have 3 of each type. The only one I've had a problem with was one of the SX's that was spooled with 50# braid. I'd been alternating back and forth between a jig and a worm pretty much all night long and after a few bone-jarring hooksets, the SX started grinding and sounding really rough. I switched reels, took it apart, greased it and applied lube but the roughness/grinding was still there. I returned it for a new one.

Terminator "Football Jig"
Football jigs are about all I use anymore. I fish alot of rock and rocky points and the football head has been the ticket for the past few years. You can get caught up in all the different type heads and just confuse yourself with all the choices. Just fish a few different heads and stick with what works best. And you will lose jigs, thats just part of the game.

Float and Fly Setup?
I have decent luck with the Punisher Jigs on the float n fly. I like using the speed stops because you can put your bait in the strike zone with no doubts, plus they're so small that they will spool right onto your reel and you can cast with them. Thats real important when you are fishing at more than about 8' or so because its hard to cast a regular bobber effectively with 8' or more of line out. I use a slip Thill bobber in between the speed stop and the jig. The jig sinks to the depth you set the speed stop.....when the bobber hits the speed stop, your jig has hit the strike zone. It's quite boring to fish but it does work. I find that drifting (if you have any current at all) and not actually moving/working the bait with your rod works best most of the time.....maybe just a slight twitch every now and then.

Favorite Shakey Head rig worm
Berkley Power Shaky Worms.....nice action combined with the Power Bait scent that just kills 'em. Strike King 3X Finesse Worms.....these float straight up off the bottom and quiver like crazy with the least amount of rod "shaking". I go to these when the bite is real slow and I need to soak my worm for a while to get the bite. The floating qualities of the 3X worms make them easy to deadstick in one place. They almost work themselves.

Not so fast.....lets see how many heavy hittin' lawyers he hires this time. However, I do believe he's guilty. (Both times)

NEED MORE SPEED!!
Other than a different prop and possibly a jack plate, there's not much that can be done to a 40hp. There may be some simple engine mods that can be done but I havent heard of any.

Hibdon Wins
Yep, good win for ol Guido....and he's not in the Million Dollar Club by accident. Met him at the local Ranger dealership a few years back, him and Dion. Both were real nice fellas. They talked quite a few people into new Rangers that weekend. I was almost one of them, til the ol lady showed up!
