  1. BSR852 (Pflueger Supreme 8035MG) MBR782C (Revo STX) BCR874 (x2) (Revo STX x2) SMR752S-SP (Pflueger Supreme 8035MG) Both of the spinning rods feel awesome with the Supreme's on them. The casting rods balance well with the STX's on them but neither spinning or casting are as light as my Heliums. Not much difference, but the difference is there. I am not a fan of having foregrip cork again....I do know that much. Will probably fish them tomorrow.
  2. Well then, I broke the law 5 times last night.
  3. No thanks. I've got plenty of smoooooth reels already.
  4. This would be a good time to take that spoon you mentioned and chuck it right in the middle of the shad pods and just let it flutter to the bottom. Whenever the shad in my home lake are back in the creeks, I will take a Lil George and do just that.....cast it into the shad. The lure crashing in on the shad will make them scatter which often triggers fish below to grab a mouthful, even if they arent real hungry. They do that alot in the fall. White or shad pattern wacky rigged senkos work for that also, they just fall slower. And I'll second the jerkbait nomination. Sometimes the fish have to be stimulated or triggered to strike.....a jerkbait will get 'em going in a hurry. You asked about burning baits back to the boat? Thats a great plan to work with a shad pattern spinnerbait with double willow nickel blades, assuming you have fairly clear water and a little wind would probably help.
  5. Thats never a bad thing if you think about it.....new toys! Something like that.... It might be a couple of months on the reels, I gotta give my wallet time to recover. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dont be hatin' on my rods cart7.....I'm not going 100% Loomis ;D
  6. This thread was a great idea Russ.....its turned out real well.
  7. Went for a ride this afternoon and ended up at my new favorite tackle shop.....and wouldn't you know it.....the baitmonkey pulled up at the same time I did. He convinced me to buy a couple of rods, and the good thing is, the wife was with me when all this happened.
  8. I have owned two so far. The very first one they put out and then the Aqua Vu Scout XL was the latest one. My experience with them was not what I had anticipated although I didnt use the first one for the same things I did the second one. The first I used to strictly look at my brushpiles and determine what type of fish, if any, were on the brush. It got cumbersome to use and I lost interest rather quickly so I sold it. The second one I used strictly for looking around and under docks. Its probably one of the smartest moves I ever made. The lake I regularly fish has about 6 million docks. Alot of the coves in the lake are lined with docks on both sides. In the winter months I would go out to a string of docks and look under everyone of them in a particular cove so I could find out which docks were the most likely to hold bigger fish. Those docks usually had sunken brush, rocks, stumps, cinderblocks, grass, tires or something under them. It really keyed me in to which docks I SHOULD be fishing and eliminated the 'nothing' docks......so when I ran into one of the coves lined with docks, I only had to fish 6 or 8 of them, instead of spending 2 hours fishing all of them. It was time well spent. You'd be surprised at what people sink under their docks. One thing I did was I took a 10' stick of 3/4" conduit and attached the camera and cable to it and marked the direction the camera was pointing. It was a big help. All I had to do was stick the conduit in the water and watch the screen. Without the conduit, dealing with the cable was the biggest drawback to the Aqua-Vu cameras.....you spend alot of time trying to figure out which way the camera is pointing and spinning the cable around which resulted in not much screen watching ....it just wasnt working out well. The conduit made it 100X easier. If you need to change the angle of the camera, keep some zip-ties and duct tape close by, they will come in handy.
  9. If I caught fish like that, I wouldnt worry for one second what rod or reel I was using......doesnt really sound like you need any other rods.
  10. Bummer! Heck, you cant beat that. I hear those JM's are sweet rods. I have handled one but never fished one. Let us know how it does and what you think about it.
  11. It's my 5th one. 1 STX, 2 SX, 2 SC. I love Revos. Me too. 3 STX, 3 SX and 3 S.....
  12. I think he got the close-out Pro Qualifiers which are/were sold this year but will not be carried next year. Muddy was talking about the Extreme's which are totally different rods. Micropterus, I saw on the receipt that you slid in a Revo STX.....nice pickup man!
  13. CR Custom Tackle....the owner, Royce Dennington finished a respectable 21st in this years Classic and he makes some killer football jigs.
  14. Stop by and get me Burley, you may need someone to pull him off you.
  15. Bid $20.00 for high bid and get the sticker. Don't make my search in vain, it took me 30 seconds to find that. That is 30 seconds of my life lost if you don't buy it. ;D ...I could make many lewd comments, but I shall refrain. Excellent choice.... ;D
  16. Although I use all the different Revo models, I will say that your problem seems to be fairly common, especially with the SX models. The complaints were more prevalent when they first came out but seem to have settled down now. Try it with a rod that has a real soft tip and see what happens. The natural flex of a soft rod may help you get used to casting it.
  17. Spot Remover head, 7" Berkley Power Shaky worm and 8# fluorocarbon.....be sure to set your drag correctly. Dont catch 'em all.
  18. Dont sweat it, I've got 7 or 8 Revo's you can try out.
  19. Not in this lifetime! A Loomis or three will be as close as I get. ;D I'll be sure to bring only Shimano's when I'm up there... ;D If thats all you got.....thats all you got. ;D
  20. Not in this lifetime! A Loomis or three will be as close as I get. ;D
  21. The new X2's dont walk near as bad as the regular X's but they still walk....
  22. Original Bagley's BB2 (2") very dependable around cover Bomber Model B....havent been out too long but have quickly become one of my favorites around cover, they deflect real well Strike King Series 1....cheap, decent cranks
  23. Spot Remover head (u pick size) and a Power Bait Shaky Worm......deadly. A ZOOM trick worm will work if I run out of the Berkley's.

    Ouch!
  25. I used the Oxygenator in my last Ranger and it did real well. Another simple tip that you may already know to do is to freeze up some 20 oz bottles full of water and once you get some fish in the well, toss one in there or two if you have enough room. Its like huge ice-cubes in a drink. Keep a check and if they end up melting, just get another from your cooler and throw it in. In a 20 gal livewell, I'm not real sure exactly how much they help but I feel like its worth doing.....and especially in the hot summer months, it cant hurt. One more thing...if your pipe is still out, drill some small holes in it before you re-install it. That will produce a showerhead type effect when the water is pushed thru. And if you can, when you recirculate, try to do it in heavily shaded water or out on the main lake. A few degrees can make a big difference and when it comes to fish care, anything is worth a try.
