Around here there is a great schooling bite right at daylight that usually lasts 45 minutes or so. After that it gets SLOW until 10 or 11. The schooling bite is worth getting there early if you get on the right schools.

I'm with you. I suspect there will be some complaining from the Elite anglers about that format now that it's over....well, KVD might not say anything.

Skeet had the best chance going into today. All he had to do was finish 4th or better, if he had done that it wouldn't have mattered what KVD did. Some will say that Skeet gave it to him but if you look at the weights, KVD came to win, and win he did.

It's over. KVD won another AOY title today on the Alabama River. This is how the tournament ended up. I agree. Good fights all night long. That was nasty....I was waiting for his shoulder to pop at any second but then he rolled out and was right back at Maynard. That fight could've went either way, really. Huerta has always 'had it' and Maynard has gained in leaps and bounds with his striking since he was on TUF. I suspect the takedowns sealed it for Maynard though. Good fight. I bet Nate Q's right eye will be swolen for 2 weeks....that was what I call a SHINER! ;D As for Kimbo....who really knows? Not much has been said about him or how he has progressed with his training in between Elite XC and TUF 10. He's in a great camp but has he learned anything? Thats the real question. I doubt whomever he fights will want to stand and swing with him though. One conclusion I made after last night's show is that I wouldn't want to be on Team Rampage. He seems too busy making jokes and playing to the camera to actually 'coach' anybody. His guy last night got smashed and all I heard Rampage say the entire fight was 'GET UP'!! He could've at least yelled something like 'ROLL OUT' or 'SWEEP' or 'ARM BAR' or just something other than 'GET UP'....I'm pretty sure the dude knew that he needed to get up : ....he just didnt know HOW to get up. That's what a coach/cornerman is for....helping his guy out with instructions.

Raiders up 7-0 at the end of the 1st qtr. WOOOO HOOOO! They actually look like a football team. Running the ball, passing a little bit, sacking Rivers, causing a fumble by LT. Russell did throw an interception but I'll give him a pass on that one since it was early. I know there's 3 more quarters but I like what I've seen so far.

We're fishing for suspenders on my home lake right now also. We dont have many ledges at all but I have found the better fish are still on the main lake, suspended over the ends of the points. It's tough, as you know but Paul has some great advice on this one...nail down their exact depth first, then put your baits in the strike zone and keep them there. The reaction strike is critical right now, at least in my neck of the woods.

That's nothing new. The Steelers could play with only 10 on defense as long as one of those 10 is Polamalu. I'm not a Steelers fan by any means but I cant help but be a fan of Polamalu.

I agree with your post 100% !!! Garcia was the best QB on the team and I was actually a little excited when they signed him. They definitely got rid of the wrong QB. For the part in bold letters: Thanks for the sympathy, really. yeah, yeah....VT got beat. Even though I'm a VT fan, I kinda figured they'd lose. It's hard to win a game on sheer defense alone. VT has the same Offensive Coordinator and he's proven time and time again to be a mental midget. The defense can only hold off a decent offense so long....in this case, it was only slightly longer than 3 qtrs. Then they refused to guard Ingram anymore and he did what he wanted to do. Game over. VT doesnt have the offensive prowess to mount a 'come back' on a team like Alabama. Burley: I fixed your lame post.
