  1. I would like someone to explain to me how Tackle Warehouse doesn't charge shipping on carts or items over 50 bucks but Bass Pro charges out the butt. I would imagine Tackle Warehouse, being the smaller company, would have a harder time implementing this kind of system. You can order rods from them for free but Bass Pro charges an extra 6 bucks on top of already high rates. Tackle Warehouse has made Bass Pro almost useless for me. Its still a fun place to visit though.
  2. Although I have not handled that particular Carrot Stix rod, I have spent a little time with one really close to it which is the 6' 10" MH Carrot Stix gold. A buddy of mine has it and uses it for T-Rigs and it handles this task beautifully. It is a very nice rod. The only complaint I had is that it has a pretty forgiving tip but you find the backbone pretty quick. I have only handled the Cumara you mention in a bait shop and just from my limited time with it I could tell it is a little stiffer than the E21. I really do not think you can go wrong with either. They both come with great warranties and they are both feather light and I would imagine them to be exceptionally sensitive.
  3. Nice skull on your electric. I was wondering the same about the acoustic...did it change the tone or resonance?
  4. It wasn't as exciting a card as I though it should have been. I like Karo but I agree he should not have won last night.
  5. I guess I got lucky in that I caught a bass on the first cast, the first time I ever fished a Fat Ika. I like em alright.
  6. That says a whole lot about GSP's skills.
  7. Yea but it took him a little longer than 30 seconds to win as well...lol. Got to give it to GSP, though. He is a monster. BJ is still my favorite fighter as well. I really hope being the best lightweight in the world will be enough for him. 170 pounds really hasn't been the greatest to him. I honestly hope he is alright. He took one of the worst beatings I have seen. I don't know how many times he was hit but it was a lot. You could tell after the second round that he did not want to be there. How about Machida too? That was spectacular and if I counted correctly he only got hit twice the entire fight. That is truly amazing. The UFC is full of talent right now. Its a good time to be a fan.
  8. Huge MMA fan here. How about GSP?!?!? Wow. I was amazed the fight went like that. NOBODY has EVER dominated BJ Penn like that.
  9. lol...wow. There are a few I hadn't seen before.
  10. I don't now if I am confident enough to throw 6 lb. line for bass anyhow. That takes a special kind of person for sure. 8 lb. is the lowest I go and still feel comfortable . Sometimes I wonder if its strong enough.
  11. I use 15 lb. CX Premium and I absolutely love it. Its got a really small diameter and handles like a dream. You can pull a boat with that stuff.
  12. I would classify them as great. There is nothing fancy about a jitterbug and there is no special technique required to use them. Just cast them out and reel them back in nice and slow and steady. I hadn't used one until last season and I caught fish the very first time I threw it. If that doesn't give you confidence in something then I don't know what will. I would suggest adding one to your topwater arsenal again because they still work and I think they are probably so old many fisherman ignore them for more fancy offerings.
  13. I don't know but they do smell like death. I got them in one of my boxes with some powerbait worms and together, they create such a beautiful aroma.
  14. Never had it happen here in Kentucky either. The PETA folks are really screwed up people. It will be interesting to hear some of the replies.
  15. Hey, I know where you are coming from, CJ. I am in eastern Kentucky and we got it bad too. I walked out on my porch Wednesday night and could hear trees breaking and falling. We were lucky in that we never lost power but there were several around us that did. That was the biggest storm I have ever seen on radar and it moved so slowly. I am glad to hear you are alright.
  16. Man its tough here. Kentucky is currently in a state of emergency and I cannot seem to stay off of *** and Bass Resource. I got a pretty bad case of fishing fever. I cannot wait for spring, guys. Beautiful pictures to you all.
  17. I bought a pack at Wal-Mart last season but I haven't really thrown them yet. I cannot see any reason why they wouldn't work though.
  18. You might want to add a couple of Strike King spinnerbaits to your arsenal. You are already using some nice brands and these are easy to come by. They have good skirt action too.
  19. I got the Banjo minnows for my birthday about 10 years ago. I never caught a fish on them and didn't like how they require such a special rig. I am just beginning to build my tackle collection and with the awesome information on this site I have been able to stay away from most dumb purchases. The only other thing I feel like I can add is a chatterbait but I really haven't given it its fair due.
  20. I like to tie mine into the spool. I cannot explain why but thats my method.
  21. Sucky news for sure. There have been a lot of greats pass recently.
  22. Hey, nice tattoo. I haven't seen many dedicated to the fish we all love catching.
  23. I stumbled on this site a while back and its been pretty helpful. Thanks for the post Muddy.
  24. And I really didn't expect Fedor to drop Arlovski like that. I predicted a Fedor win but not in that fashion. Got to be the best heavyweight of all time. He does need to come in and wreck the UFC...I see nobody there giving him any trouble right now but I would love to see: Fedor vs. Mir Fedor vs. Big Nog again Fedor vs. Lesnar (cannot stand Lesnar) and Fedor vs Gonzaga would also be a good one too.
  25. Nope. He might beat him but not like that. He BARELY won against an out of shape Penn the first time around. Penn is the best he has ever been right now and I am more than excited about this fight.
