spinning reel anti reverse on/off switch
I am always intimidated to attempt back reeling. I have read all sorts of articles on this. Some of them say that its pointless to back reel now because modern drags are miles ahead of what they used to but I have also read several accounts of how back reeling is still very beneficial. I would like to try it sometime but I would rather not try it on a big bass.

Now these are nice.
That is a good lookin' color. Might just have to give one of these a try too.

When do you fish "Green" tinted line.....
I use moss green 15 lb. P-Line CX Premium on every baitcaster that I own. I fish both stained and crystal clear lakes. The real winner for me was fishing lake Erie using both true fluorocarbon and P-Line (which is a co-polymer) and getting the same amount of fish on both.

Thoughts/Experiences appreciated: Powell 704C
I appreciate the responses. I have one Powell on the way. I technically don't need it until mid to late March but it seems buying new stuff is almost as fun as catching fish. Thanks.

Theories on Line and crankbaits
What I take from all of this is that you should crank with what makes you the most comfortable and confident, be it 10 pound mono or 30 pound braid. I personally use 15# P-Line Cx Premium and catch my share of crankbait fish.

This is their 7' Heavy stick. There are a few things that I really love about this. First, its a heavy model that can still handle 1/4 ounce baits. I would be using this stick for texas rigs and for jig fishing as well. After seeing a lot of fish being broke off in tree tops due to my underpowered rods I though it was time to do a little upgrading before March. Secondly, its got a super handsome price tag. 139.99 Its also made with some quality components (like Fuji Alconite guides). The guys at Tackle Tour really seemed to love the 6' 8" Med. Hvy. model which weighed in at just over 3.5 oz. So I guess I would expect the 7 ft. Heavy to be pretty light weight as well. Would definitely be an improvement over my cumbersome BPS Extreme 7' MH rod. Does anyone here have one of these sticks and what do you think about them? Are they sensitive, durable, etc.? Thanks a lot for your input. Edit: Accidentally typed wrong model number in Subject. Fixed now.

Whoa, those reels don't have instant anti-reverse?

Brock Lesnar Fight
Kinda shocked to be honest. I was rooting for Randy as I think Lesnar just wasn't ready for a title shot. He really isn't proven although the UFC really doesn't go by that system sometimes. As far as the fight goes, I don't like using the word "lucky" when talking about MMA but the punch that got Randy was about as lucky as it gets. He saw it coming, dodged as best he could and just got caught in the temple at the perfect time from the perfect angle. It was almost like the punch Serra landed on GSP. I can't completely dog Lesnar though and I will say that by the time he defends his title, he will be (at least) tough for anyone. Hey, it could be worse. The UFC could have signed Kimbo over Lesnar.

Flu shots
I just got mine the other day. Nice heads up.

Weight isn't everything
It is all about the balance...for me anyway. I am still poor and fish with Bass Pro rods and while they are heavier than most I can achieve pretty decent balance with them and it makes fishing all day a little more fun.
