  1. The new Zillions look real nice. The one thing I never connected is why more pros aren't using G-Loomis....and I know how sponsorship works but still, if they are supposed to be the be all end all rod and if they really offered a significant advantage over other brands like Falcon, Quantum (at least a dozen pros use these), St. Croix, and all those other brands, I think pros would use them more...Hell, one of the better pros on tour these days, Edwin Evers, uses Bass Pro Shops Pro Qualifiers and judging from the replies I have read here, those rods garbage. If G-Loomis were truly leaps and bounds better than everything else wouldn't professional fisherman use them regardless of sponsorship...especially when each tourney really does mean getting paid or not. In my opinion, rods are just like everything else in fishing...there are so many quality brands out there it all comes down to preference. Just like when deciding between an Owner or a Gammy, P-Line or Yo-Zuri, or a Shimano or an Abu.
  2. I got some college buddies that can drink the Pabst all day long. Not for me. I actually prefer some Guinness. Such a smooth beer.
  3. Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing Dire Straits - Lady Writer Eric Clapton - I Shot the Sheriff Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band - Oh Well Tantric - Alright
  4. Yep, that beats mine. Nice fish, man.
  5. Yes they are. I lucked in to being there during feeding time once. That sure was an experience.
  6. Congrats to her. And good job taking her fishing.
  7. I would say somewhere between 2 and 3. Its purty.
  8. That thing looks awesome. I want it in my living room. It would be a nice conversation piece.

lol...good one. I dig me some good social lubricant from time to time.
  10. Now thats an awesome looking bait. I bet you have caught a few on that.
  11. They do on this website quite a bit. But other than that...nope. I just cannot justify buying one (well, paying retail for one). Maybe if I ever start making money I might actually think harder about it but they cannot be 250 to 300 dollars better than everything I have ever used. I actually got the chance to fish a 6'6" medium IMX (which a lot of people claim to be no different sensitivity wise than GLXs and I was not that impressed, honestly) I don't care what anyone says, after a while you are just paying for a name...
  12. Thats a nice collection you got there. Just goes to show what kind of impact the Revos actually had. These are awesome looking reels.
  13. I have never seen these before. They look crazy though. They sure suit his personality.
  14. hmmm, thats tough...
  15. The Foo Fighters (love that band) - The Pretender Here is mine: Twisted thoughts that spin round my head I'm spinning, oh, I'm spinning How quick the sun can drop away And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass Of what was everything? All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...
  16. You are probably right. Before I got better gear, I used to use an ugly stick spinning rod with a spinning reel that had tons of back play with 10 year old mono and crappy eagle claw hooks to worm fish with and I still managed to catch bass. Maybe you were fishing in an area with ultra aggressive bluegill or smaller bass.
  17. and could someone Pleeeeeease tell me how to fish a senko?!? Only if you can tell me if Banjo Minnows are any good. This thread is awesome.
  18. Hey, this is really neat. I will just have to try this sometime. Thanks for the good advice. Judging from other posts I have read, you really know your stuff.
  19. I find a slow steay "blub, blub, blub" to be the best method too. Besides a buzzbait, this has been the only topwater I have thrown at night this year and it flat produces.
  20. This is the first I have heard since I read the article about them in Bass Master a while back. They look to be quality made and at almost 10 bucks a pop they better be. I think it would be neat to have one in the tacklebox but it really isn't offering anything new. If I remember correctly the article talked like the double hooks added a great deal of stability therefore increasing hookups because the jig hardly ever rolled over. The evolution jigs do that though and look better in my opinion.
  21. Like I said before... even if I don't get one, thanks a million. People like you not only make this website what it is but you guys continually show what bass fishing is all about. A+ (By the way, I have talked to him on the phone and he is a class act).
  22. lol, thats insane. Its a pretty cat though.
  23. My friend has a Code and honestly, I would say stay away. Its a 70 dollar reel because its cheaply made. Its not smooth and doesn't seem to be very good all around. And this is coming from someone who is actually a fan of Quantum.
  24. That actually makes sense. But I would say after this one breaks down I will be done with round reels unless I get into swimbaiting. I just like the feel of the low profiles better.
