  1. I too am a Loomis Virgin...one of these days I plan on changing that but right now I got lots of college to pay for. Are they really THAT much better than most everything else???
  2. I like the color a lot but it really has been around a while. Its pretty entertaining to see all the other companies names for Sexy Shad.
  3. I have caught all of my fish on the baby bass color and the g-finish shad color. I have also seen a lot caught on the blue shore minnow color too. One color that I haven't even had as much as a hit on is bone. I don't know why but they don't even look at this thing.
  4. Hey Burley, Hold the Line; and while you are at it, give me some rain down in Africa...I miss em...
  5. Competition isn't really a bad thing. Gives us something else to watch occasionally because sometimes UFC's cards aren't exactly packed with big names which is understandable given that fighters have to wait a certain amount of time between bouts. Its going to be interesting to see how huge Affliction becomes because they have endless potential.
  6. I have last years lightning rod and it is actually pretty decent. I like the look of the new ones but I sure could do without the fiberglass tip...It seems it would ruin the small but noticeable sensitivity these rods have. The first thing I thought was that it could be a nice crankbait rod as well.
  7. This is really awesome because I am just now getting into fishing 10 inch worms. I have had some pretty good success this year on Zoom Old Monsters so I will give these a try. Nothing gets me going like feeling a Bass inhale a 10 inch worm!
  8. Really awesome read. Thanks a million to all of you for an awesome website!!!
  9. I recently spent a week on Erie drifting for smallmouth. The whole time I used 3/16 - 1/4 oz. weights (both tubes and dropshots) and had no problems keeping my bait on the bottom. I don't see why a half oz. weight wouldn't work either though because most all of my fish picked my baits up off the bottom. We did catch our fish in 10-12 feet of water and I assume they are a little deeper now so I could see why 1/2 oz. weights would be recommended. Gulp very well may be smallmouth crack but it seemed to be more drum and catfish crack as well. I drop shotted the Gulp Goby for a couple of hours and caught a lot of fish...just not many smallmouth...I managed to catch a big catfish that somehow ate the entire dropshot rig...lol.
  10. I am kinda weird about it I guess. It bothers me when I cause a scratch on my reels by doing something I shouldn't have been doing (like using a knife to cut line off of a spool or dropping one on the pavement). But when it comes to scratches from general use or boat rash, I don't let it bother me at all.
  11. Awesome video LBH. Always entertaining.
  12. The reason I say that is because of the amount of time he could do...he is at the pinnacle of his career right now and a couple of years away is a long time in a sport like MMA. If that happens Dana will drop him quick anyway. I know the UFC isn't technically the only show in town but at the same time its leaps and bounds ahead of most everything else. If all he gets is some publicity and a light sentence then its really no big deal. BJ Penn was charged with "assaulting" an officer and he is a title holder now....who knows...its a crappy situation regardless.
  13. I hope this hasn't been posted yet...anyways, here you go: http://www.theultimatefishingshow.com/video
  14. I just heard the news earlier today myself. I wonder what kind of trouble he is in. His MMA career could possibly be finished which sucks because he is a very entertaining fighter.
  15. 1. That was actually a really good Bassmasters video. 2. For everyone that doesn't know, the kid that did the Chocolate Rain song was just some random guy on youtube with a fake deep voice. He put that song on there and it somehow became an internet sensation. Now he has become semi-famous...and that stupid song gets in my head like you wouldn't believe. 3. THANK YOU BURLEY!!!
  16. That is unbelievable. I just can't fathom doing something like this. And the person filming is the older brother of that child??? Ridiculous!!!
  17. The Plfueger Presidents are nice reels. I own a 35 size myself and have fished with the 40 size. Very smooth. They also have been tested on some nice smallies and they passed easily. Since you can afford it, the Supreme is probably going to be the ticket. As far as I know, they are lighter than the Presidents.
  18. That is a huge perch. Good job!!!
  19. Nice video...It was hilarious to see you standing in front of the camera soaking wet after emphasizing for a minute and a half about how to avoid such an occurance. Made me laugh a bit. Heck of an awesome fish too.
  20. I at this exact scenario at least once, every time I am on the water.

I am a part to full time college student and currently I have a full time summer work study here on campus. Its not bad. I basically get paid minimum wage to set on Bass Resource all day. It covers my bills and I still get some extra for fishing expenditures.
  22. This really is a great place to be a part of. I seriously set on here all day - gotta love those easy jobs. A lot of guys here really know their stuff and we are all really lucky to have such easy access to them. A lot of their threads and posts have helped me a lot.
  23. Wouldn't it's huge size make backing that tow vehicle kind of tough. It sure is awesome regardless. And Jason Quinn's setup is insane. I was just talking to a friend of mine about what exactly an Evan Williams sponsorship is good for...now I know.
  24. Bluegill are mighty fine eating. Fillet em' and cover them in corn meal. mmmmm I might just have to go catch me some bluegill now.
  25. From my experiences, they are not going to be perfectly quiet reels because of the nature of their braking systems. Give the below reel review a read. They talk about the casting noise of the Tour PT. If you are experiencing something different than what they are describing, you may want to get a refund or exchange it for another. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewquant06ptburner.html "Infinite ACS is adjusted via an ergonomic knob on the sideplate. The knob can be turned up and down quickly, and our tests confirmed that only does the system work, but it is possible to make extremely precise adjustments to the cast control system, much more so than traditional weighted cast control systems. Once I had the reel dialed in at around 30% I began casting. Line peels off the spool smoothly as the reel surprised me by making an enchanting whirring noise during each cast. The casting whine is beautiful, and to some extent like a slightly lower pitched Calcutta TE DC cast. The noise emits from with Quantum's unique ACS system as the weights come into contact with the friction shield." If you ever watch KVD during any recent tourneys, you can hear that his Tour reels are not exactly the quietest out there.
