  1. If you haven't noticed already, its all about preference. With that said, I am with Burley.
  2. Patriarchs are starting to catch on. They are a lot nicer reel than they are given credit for. I have a couple of them and I am planning on getting more.
  3. That is one absolutely beautiful fish. Good job.
  4. One of my fishing buddies used to use cheap Nail Polish from Wal-Mart with decent success. At least, thats what he tells me it was for... :-*
  5. Yeah it was terribly out of key and sent the fish scattering! I happened to get one that was slightly bent (the wire right at the head was just a touch off) and it ran sideways with the skirt up next to the blade. I PM'd him on here and he gave me a number to call. HE answered the phone and walked me step by step through checking to see if everything was straight and it didn't take him long to correctly diagnose the problem. Did a little bending with his instruction. I took it to the lake later that evening and it was almost perfect. Had to tinker a little more but I got it figured out. Without his instruction, I wouldn't have known where to begin. He also told me that if that didn't work to let him know and he would send me two for my troubles. Pure class.
  6. A demo program with rods would be really great and worth every penny. Tackle Warehouse offers a bunch of rods that I do not have easy access to and I think you should always at least hold a rod before buying it. I just bought a rod off of Tackle Warehouse without trying it and luckily, I fell in love with it immediately and it balanced with my favorite reel quite nicely. But it could have very well ended up the other way.
  7. I will one up you with chrome sexy shad. I do like chrome baits.
  8. Wow. I figured you would have let him go after the shenanigans he pulled last year. I forgot all about that even happening until just now. I will say that you have got to be a class act after all that happened with this dude. You truly did give him more chances than most would have. I am sorry it had to come to this. P.S. Thanks for taking time out to personally talk to me on the phone to help me properly tune my Cavitron. Its been a fish catching machine since.
  9. Largemouth: Approx. 4 pound - Zoom Brush Hog (the biggun) - Watermelon Red Smallmouth: 5 pounds - Zoom Fat Albert Grub - Watermelon Red
  10. That picture always cracks me up. I would almost give anything to have been there when Verizon got that check.
  11. I wouldn't mind trying one either. My only problem with them is that they weigh almost an ounce. I would like to actually see one in person before I bought it.
  12. I saw this on another forum but the thread title was "Woman stabs Chimp." In all seriousness, this is a crappy situation. But it could have been avoided.
  13. LOL. That's so simple its ingenious. *Runs to Wal-Mart to get a pencil grip*
  14. Same here. I have heard of this method quite a few times before but seeing it done just made me cringe. I got a Zara Spook stuck in my finger once and I grabbed it and popped the hook back out. It was a total reflex. It made a loud popping sound like when you use pliers to get a hook out of a fish. It made my buddy a little nauseous. ;D
  15. I am a big ol' boy so it would take more than one cold beer for me.
  16. is this what you would do? I don't like/trust any of my friends enough for that!!!
  17. Although I haven't tried it, it seems like a fine offer to me. The charge covers the shipping both ways. You can get up to four Diawa's for one flat rate and see how you like them for a solid week. That means you could have Zillion, a Fuego, a Sol and an Advantage in your posession for a whole week. That seems like 20 bucks well spent to me. I think its an awesome idea and I am glad they have the resources to provide this neat offer.
  18. Zoom's website is still under construction and they have been a company at least as long as I have been alive!
  19. That is a neat story. That boater could have made it hell for you. Its cool that there are such good guys even at the higher levels.
  20. Thats pretty generous. Everyone wins this way.
  21. I like the Red Eye Shads a bunch. The new Rat-L-Traps are pretty nice too. I got a few Cotton Cordell spots that fish nicely. I think most of all, I am looking forward to trying out XCalibur's.
  22. I started out simple enough when I was a kid fishing for bluegill. The creeks around my house always had lots of pan fish in them. I was hardcore addicted to that as a little guy. I quit fishing for years and rediscovered it while in college. A friend of mine had a bass boat and invited me to go. He took me to Wal-Mart and picked out a Mitchell Avocet spinning combo for me and we headed to the lake. He rigged up a grub on a jighead and told me to have at it. I caught my first fish on an artificial that day and it was all over for me.
  23. My lakes ain't got no rocks. That is why you ain't catching no bigguns, Burley. Big bass live in grass and wood. And I should know that because I catch them all the time....
  24. They also look awesome, too.
