  1. Word. I haven't watched Slumdog yet. It looked pretty neat though.
  2. Sounds to me like you have to loosen your spool tension knob.
  3. I have caught a bunch of fish on both types of Zoom worms. Do not let the 10" size of the Old Monster deter you. Smaller fish eat it too.
  4. Yea, change to another fishing show. lol
  5. I hear ya. During the summer I love catching em on a top water in the mornings. But after that bite is over, all I have to look forward to are 95+ degree temps. and extremely slow fishing. When this happens I would almost rather catch them on a top water and go home then burn up and only catch a couple. Maybe when I get better at fishing deep I will change my mind.
  6. Bass Pro Tender Tubes are really nice as well. Make sure to get the single colors though. Those that are two tone are double dipped which makes them thicker and not as soft.
  7. I didn't even touch one of those things. That said, his rod locker is now full of Shimanos. You should at least cast one a couple of times. Are you still in the lead with the five pounder?
  8. I own a 7' Heavy Powell...or two. I have fished a 7' Heavy Kistler Magnesium quite a bit as well. Honestly, either one will do just fine. I am a little more partial to the Powell because it has 11 guides (compared to the Kistlers 9). The Powells also have nicer guides as well. Other than that, these two rods act very similar. Good luck on whatever it is you buy.
  9. So Cart, have you converted Burley into a Patriarch lover yet?
  10. I laughed out loud as well. Thanks for sharing.
  11. This was going to be my advice almost word for word. The spook puppy was the last bait I learned to walk the dog with. Its pretty tough to get the hang of because of its tiny size. My fishing buddy has caught a lot of really nice bass on the spook puppy.
  12. I am sorry to hear about that. That is just awful.

With the exception of Eagle Claw, every hook on that list is high quality. I personally use Gammy's and Owners most of the time.
  14. As far as I can tell he really uses them. Pro Qualifiers are extremely underrated rods. I have a 6'6" medium and its really tough, pretty light, and very sensitive.
  15. 1. November 13, 2001. My senior year of highschool. I got called to the school office because my grandparents were there to sign me out for the day. What was weird was I drove to school that day. Turns out my dad had a seizure, fell and broke his neck. He was my best friend. 2. April 1, 2002. I was on my way to traffic school for a speeding ticket I had received a few months earlier. I was met at my back door by my aunt who was crying hysterically. She informed me that just hours prior, my mother had suffered a massive heart attack while attending church. I heard she died almost instantly. 3. July 9, 2002. My grandparents received a phone call early that morning from my sister in law. She came home late the night before and found her husband (my brother) dead on their porch. He had died of a drug overdose. He was 26 and had a baby boy. I try to take him fishing when I can.
  16. Well maybe its not that bad. I would say use it and figure things out from there. It may surprise you.
  17. I love Zoom Ol' Monsters.
  18. I have had an SX and I own a couple of Patriarchs. The Patriarchs are much more user friendly. The Revos have tighter tolerances overall but the Patriarch is definitely worth trying. The Patriarch is so easy to cast and they feel very similar to the ABU's.
  19. I would say Patriarch solely based on the side plate design. The push button release of the Summit cannot be as durable as the Revo inspired release on the Patriarch. Just one more thing to think about...
  20. Based on the line size you are using, I would go with a Medium Heavy. I use Powell Heavy's but I fish heavier line and some pretty thick cover most of the time.
  21. It is creeping along for me right now. This is the first problem I have ever had with this site. Other sites work just fine.
  22. I always stay with the size that came on the cranks originally. Maybe I am missing out but I figured they are on there for a reason. I use Gamakatsu Round Bends. They are sticky sharp and pretty easy to find. It seems that most cranks use a size 4 treble. Smaller cranks use size 6's while deep divers usually come equipped with 2's. I recently installed Mustad Triple Grips on my topwaters and they seem very nice as well.
  23. I do not use an I-Pod when I am on the water. There is no reason other than I do not feel like I concentrate as good when I have music going.
  24. I pulled crap like that when I was that age. I see the harm in it now but I wouldn't have back then.
